Will LA send Jones to minors?

Andruw Jones hit 342 home runs before he turned 30. Manny Ramirez hit 277 home runs before he turned 30. It is sobering to realize how quickly Jones has fallen from greatness. He turned 30 just last year. His career might be over. Jones and the Dodgers owe it to each other to do their best to find out. The Dodgers ought to ask Jones to go to the minor leagues, and he ought to say yes. Manager Joe Torre said the idea of asking Jones to go to the minor leagues has not been discussed.

The Twilight zone...suddenly the Dodgers and Jones are playing hockey? Way to pay attention to detail T&R.

Really?? Andruw Jones plays for the LA Kings???? good job cnnsi , pay a lil more attention!

This Just in...... Sundin signed with the Dodgers...then they traded him to the Pistons for Rasheed Wallace...and the Steelers have tied up the first pick in next years NHL draft.

I think LA just hit the Cap floor.

Do the Kings have a minor league team in Vegas, too? That's where the Dodgers AAA club plays. Way to go, T&R. Just had to move this one so into another thread so that we could get our daily "Why Manny Didn't Go The 29 Other MLB Clubs" in the MLB section.

As far as this goes, I said at the beginning that he wasn't any good anymore, and I couldn't believe it when they gave him 2 yrs/$36 million. Now, I've been saying for weeks that he needs to go down to the minors a la Dontrelle Willis in Detroit. It really does look like he's done, but they could at least try to figure him out.

I don't believe Andruw Jones was ever as young as he claimed, like when he became the "youngest" player in MLB history to homer in the WS. I'' bet he's closer to 36 or 38 in real years and not 30 as they say.
Jose Mesa was always thought to be 10 years older than he claimed, as was Ivan DeJesus.

Andruw could be Goldberg the Goalie......

As far as Andruw going to AAA.........I think that minor league per diem isn't going to cover Andruw's food bills

Time to take the garbage out Mr. Jones.

August 3, 2008  03:19 PM ET

This is there attempt at paying us back for complaing about their Sundin stories.
Little do they know that we would be happier with minor-league baseball speculation vs. more Sundin garbabe.

Wow lets get our Sports correct. Does this mean Chad Johnson signed with the Vancouver Canucks or did Nichalas Lidstrom become the latest corner back to sign with the Cincinnati Bengals. Oh did Chris Bosh sign with the Detroit Red Wings. Brett Farve is really going to pitch for the Toronto Blue Jays, maybe he should really try since the Packers are upset that he will be back in training camp and wont trade him. The Kings could use Andrew Jones he's probably better than half the team, that can't make the playoffs.

Go USC Trojans Football, don't let Stanford beat you and then theres a great chance that you will be playing for the BCS championship. Beat Ohio State and it's over Pac 10, Georgia, Florida and LSU.
