Reinstated Favre calling Pack's bluff?
ESPN is reporting that commissioner Roger Goodell has reinstated Brett Favre. The report is coming from the Favre camp and has not been confirmed by the National Football League or the Packers. Favre is expected to fly to Green Bay today, but it's unclear whether Favre is still considering signing the marketing deal. ESPN reported that the Favre side thinks the Packers don't believe Favre will follow through on his bluff to report to camp if a resolution isn't reached on the marketing deal, and so Favre intends to show them he is serious. The Packers have 24 hours to place Favre on the 80-man roster, which means the earliest he would join the team would be Monday afternoon. Favre isn't expected to be at the intrasquad scrimmage tonight and there's no practice on Monday.

He'll follow through all right. Right now, he's holding ALL the cards. God help the Pack this year after all this. The Vikings can't lose now, even if they don't get Favre.

tried to explain this to my family this morning over pancakes. They couldn't understand it, I couldn't explain it. It defies logic!! Good luck to both parties in GB.
I hope to see him at Chicago only as to not see grossman and orton

Didn't you read the Sun-Times? The Magnificent Mariotti says that can't happen. And of course, he's always right.

I think you're right, GWW. He'll show up now as a matter of pride.
I actually thought, when all this started, that it was just an attempt to get more off-season publicity, but not for long. Everyone involved is looking bad.

I'd like to see him show up at training camp, even if holding a clip board. He'll be the best QB on the field. Period. Let's see how management deals with that as they fork over $12m a year.

Good for him, not let the Packers show they have some balllss too. Let's see. They do not want him....just release him. I dare them to do just that, or better let that old Rodgers or Rogers,,,whatever...let him lose. Then well see what happens.

I'll add on by saying I've lost respect for favre and the organization. If I were the packs I'd let the Vikings have him, but not the bears just in case the bears develop an offense. Of course the pack org seems pretty incompetent so far, they passed on a good opportunity of signing randy moss, they overpay their rb grant, and now they being bent backwards from some old washed up pos qb.

I just want to know who the **** Goodell thinks he is... saying he wants this resolved by Monday. he should have no power to step in and force GB to do something it doesn't want to. All Goodell has the right to do is reinstate him into the NFL, besides that Favre is still under contract with the Packers and if he doesn't like it tough chyte. If the Packers choose to pay Favre 12mil to sit on their bench instead of trading him because that is what they find best for their team... than that is the choice, Goodell is going to set a bad chain of events if he steps in.

GWW,
I can't read ....much. And if Mariotti is involved I'm out. Can you imagine the circus tonight at 17:32 (ETA of the jet--like we need that info).
Oh and what the hell is "Family Night" at Lambeau field?

I hope he takes the Packers $13M per year and stands on the sidelines. Less money for GB to spend on other players.
