Former Patriots safety Tebucky Jones was arrested in Connecticut early Friday morning, after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman and fighting with two men in a hotel lobby at Mohegan Sun, according to State Police in Connecticut. State Police said Jones, 33, of Farmington, Conn., made inappropriate comments and contact with a woman in the casino's lobby at about 1 a.m. Friday. The woman's boyfriend, Nikolaos Papathanasiou, 22, approached Jones and the two began fighting. Mark Chichester, 36, was a bystander in the hotel lobby and entered the fray to assist Papathanasiou. He managed to punch Jones before police arrived.

Tebucky Shermain Jones (born October 6, 1974 in New Britain, Connecticut) is a former American football safety in the National Football League. His career began when he was drafted out of Syracuse University in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the Patriots. He is probably best known for his role on the 2001 New England Patriots team that won Super Bowl XXXVI (he picked up a Kurt Warner fumble in the fourth quarter and raced 97 yards for an apparent touchdown, only to have the play reversed on a holding call). He has also played for the Miami Dolphins and the New Orleans Saints. Jones currently resides in Farmington, Connecticut.

Jones inappropriately touched the girl, the girl's boyfriend came at Jones, Jones decked him causing injury and another guy then punched Jones. Jones and the other two guys were arrested and fined.

Ex-Saint or Ex-Dolphin arrested for sexual assault.

editor: Nah, who would ever read that? Go with the Ex-Patriot headline. That will generate hits and draw out everyone with a half-****ed comment.

I know that the original story and headline comes from the Boston Globe but it would be much more appropriate for the SI.com editors to adjust the headline to keep the story in perspective on their own site. As previously noted, this bastion of society hasn't played in the NFL, let alone New England, in over two years. How about Tebucky Jones arrested for sexual assault as a headline?

Why is it news whenever an ex player breaks the law?

They are (Early) America's Team and even former members shouldn't do such bad things as Tebucky is accused of. (BTW, don't feel picked on. Any other former NFL player would be referenced according to his team. And of course this IS a Globe article.)

Its the ex- SU alum that bothered me. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE can forget his first name......wow!

Tebucky Jones. Another model of good behavior! What's with these morons? If they can't handle success and affluence, maybe they should go back to flipping burgers or cleaning toilets!

"Ex-Saint or Ex-Dolphin arrested for sexual assault. "
Saints do not believe in sex and Dolphins are incapable of the crime as charged. Though there was one incident at SeaWorld a few years ago that was settled out of court..

Jones is very lucky that the Horsemen weren't there. But I'm sure he already knows that.
