Preds must wait on Radulov verdict

The International Ice Hockey Federation plans to determine the status of Predators forward Alexander Radulov by mid-August, an IIHF spokesman said Monday. Radulov signed a three-year deal with Salavat Yulaev Ufa of Russia's Continental Hockey League (KHL) last month despite having one more year left on his Nashville contract. The IIHF condemned the signing at the time, informing the KHL that signing a player already under contract was in blatant contradiction to a verbal agreement recently reached between by the NHL and KHL - one in which both sides agreed not to poach players under contract. The KHL has since countered by saying Radulov's Russian contract was finalized prior to that verbal agreement. The IIHF said it would investigate the Radulov matter, as well as the transfer of five other players between the NHL and KHL. The IIHF had requested that all involved parties submit relevant information to the organization by last Thursday. Even if the IIHF determines the KHL acted improperly in signing Radulov, it's unclear whether that would lead to Radulov's return to the Predators.

Do the Preds really want this snivelling ninny back? To what purpose? Do they really want that king of disruption in their dressing room on top of all the other stuff swirling around that team?

DCruiser
probably not a good idea, as they have other distractions right now.

I suppose they have to investigate; after all we don't want anybody to be irked. Let him go; his heart won't be in it in Nashville.

I'm not all that familiar with him, but if DCruiser is right, his heart isn't ANYwhere

from yesterday's thread, bears reading/commenting.
B/c we like hockey in Nashville.
That and our state has the fastest car manufacturing facilties in the states so a lot of people in the northeast are moving down here. They move here... and they want hockey.
Not to mention, the newer hockey fans like myself enjoy it a LOT.
There. Investigation done.

No one is disputing that there are fans, I know a couple of nashville hockey fans myself actually. The problem is sustainablity. I also know a few NASCAR fans here in NY, but should they run the Winston Cup (or whatever it's called now...I forget) up here? Hardly.
The Rangers stunk for a really long time, The leafs haven't won a Cup since the kennedy administration, but they always pack the house, and always will. What happens when the novelty wears off in Tennessee? I think that's the issue. Look, I'd watch hockey anywhere, but you can't just plunk a team down somewhere because 10,000 people went to a game a few times 9hyperbole I know, but to make a point) as Bettman seems to think.

BETTMAN IS A SNIVELLING NINNY (from another thread...great phrase_)

Radulov has good abilities but couldn't handle the transition to life in North America. He doesn't want to be here. Mamma's boy, he is!

Let him go, traitor! Make sure you fine the hell out of him before he leaves.

Maybe he can understudy Yashin as the Tin Man in our production of the Wizard of Oz.

Yashin to play the Tin Man? Thats the smartest thing you've said all day ;)

I have to say I feel bad for those genuine hockey fans in those potentially unsustainable hockey towns. Another iniquity to add to Bettman's CV: ultimate responsibilty for breaking the hearts of those who may eventually lose their teams, just because he wants to carry out his stupid experiments.

August 5, 2008  02:29 PM ET

Seriously now.....when will the owners concede that Bettman is ruining our game? It really is a mind-boggler.

Hopefully, this Nashville investigation will have a Watergate effect, and drive the little b***ard out

Is it just me or are the Pred's getting a disproportional amount of the T&R stories over the last 3 weeks? I realize Nashville has been a great hockey town for almost a century, but come on.

Between crooked owners and all the rest, they have probably earned a lot of the coverage, although the SNIVELLING NINNY would want less I am sure.

BETTMAN S***S

August 5, 2008  04:05 PM ET

I wouldn't like to see Radulov back in the NHL but the point is Nashville lost its first former round pick and a good player because of lack of transfer agreement between the leagues (i.e not because of its own mistake). Will it be anyhow repaid for the loss of this talented dumb-****?

I think it's a plot created by Jigger to drum up interest. But the other 15 rabid Nashville fans don't post here. Just Jigger.
