Wolverines may play multiple QBs

Quarterbacks Steven Threet and Nick Sheridan spent time this summer working on new coach Rich Rodriguez's spread offense and applying what they learned in the spring. "There's a lot of different things Steve and I worked on," said Sheridan, whom Rodriguez identified as having a very good practice Monday. "We worked hard on the different techniques and footwork." Monday was also the debut for freshman Justin Feagin, the wild-card contender to start because of his athletic ability. "It's going to be a competition that may continue to go throughout the season," Rodriguez said. "I hope we have at least two that we can win with. That's the goal. Not so much finding a starter as two we can win with."

Uh, I think Michigan will HAVE to play multiple QB's. There is no one on the team right now fully qualified to fully run the offense in the way that RR would like it to be run. So expect to see direct snaps to the likes of Feagin, Brown, or Minor if not others. Think how Urban Meyer used Leak and Tebow (for those who have really bad reading comprehension, which is many on here, I am not typing this to mean that UM will have the success that Leak/Tebow and Fl had with this arrangement just that UM might use this combination when needed).

GO BLUE.

I am very curious to see how Michigan does this year. I have no doubt that in future years they will return to being strong, but this year is a big question mark. I just truly hope that Coach Rod brings in quality people, not some of the rogues and jerks he has used before. Good luck, Michigan!

What ever it takes to have a good season in this transition year even if that means 'ole Rich Rod suiting up and doing the QBing!

RR doesn't seem to be the type to stick by a guy when he's struggling (I wish JoePa would have benched Morelli last season) so I expect to see some experimentation.

shocker! way to go get the hard hitting story DFP

Carr's guys were not recruitied for RR's Offense. This year should be interesting to watch

I am not a Michigan fan but I think some of you might be grossly underestimating the team they will field this year. If they get past ND (entirely possible) they could surprise. (I will be pulling for ND however).

UM-the most underrated team in college football this year. RR still brought in some elite speed with McGuffie and Shaw, who easily could take direct snaps as well. This will be a fun year for all. All I can hope for is an upset in the Shoe! Let's dream! lol

Go Blue!

With this offense, Bo will be turning in his grave.

It's not may. It's will. Michigan will have to play as many QB's as possible until the one is found. My guess is Threet starts, Sheridan and Feagin play and the one who is the most comfortable gets the job from there.

I think UM's offense will look like a chinese fire drill the first several games. Then RR will pull the O back in and it will become more boring but more effective. By the time the OSU game rolls around, it will look more like Carr's offense then the WVa offense.

I think the biggest adjustment will for for the offensive line. I think QB's will be shuffled a lot until someone pulls a Pat White (except against OSU instead of Louisville). I'm suprised there is no talk about the human rubberband. Is he going to play RB or skat back?

"With this offense, Bo will be turning in his grave."

Michigan with demetrius brown went to at least 1 rosebowl running an option.

BUT nobody remembers that part of michigan history...GO FIGURE.

LETS GO BLUE

For those who also have short memories, Rick Leach was a running and throwing type of QB.

Bo actually thought very highly of RR and thought he and Ferentz were the two most exciting coaches in football. Not sure why about Ferentz but he did.

Bo is actually cheering in his grave screaming, "GIVE THEM HELL RICH!"

I hope RR loses every game for this rest of his coaching career. He is a slime bucket.
