Jets could owe Packers a No. 1 pick
A source with knowledge of the talks said early this morning that if Brett Favre plays 80 percent of the offensive snaps with the Jets and the Jets make it to the Super Bowl, Green Bay will receiver New York's first-round pick next April. Considering he's played 275 straight regular- and postseason starts, the 80-percent playing time likely won't be an issue. But the Jets are coming off a 4-12 season, and even their heartiest fans can only dream of a season that ends in an AFC Championship over the likes of New England, Indianapolis and San Diego. So it's likely the pick will be somewhere between a second- and fourth-rounder in 2009.

Actually, we will probably get film, quotes, commentary and all the media we can handle for at least till the season starts. The NY/NJ media will be so happy for a while. I wonder what JT The Brick thinks of this deal?

And a high pick is a small price to pay to steal the media spotlight back from the New Jersey Giants.

Jets betting the farm again. Spending like drunken sailors.
Prediction: Mangini, Tannebaum, Favre will not be with the Jets in the '09/'10 season.

So why won't NY be real A.S.S.E.S and turn around and trade to Minnesota? That would be the best twist to this saga so far.

If Aaron Rodgers goes down fast either by injury or ability ...It will be fun to see the faces of the Green Bay management ...especially Coach Mike McCarthy who looked like a pompous school master when interviewed earlier in the week ..." Brett just dint have the right attitude and did not answer his questions correctly "...

Will he be called Broadway Brett. The diva image suits him well now. Sorry Jets fans you will not be giving up a first round pick. yes Brett will play at least 80% of the games.

Broadway Bretty. Not sure its a fit that will fix what ails the Jets. Still convinced they have one of the NFL weaker head coaches.

Jets winning the superbowl... I would give a 1st if that happened. Don't see it happening, so they do not have to give up a first!
* if would be awesome to see the Jets trade him to the Vikes

I imagine it is a 2nd round if they make the playoffs and 3rd or 4th if they don't

I don't know why every one is talking about the Media is going to kill Brett Favre. Brett Favre is going to be the 2nd Best and Famous QB ever to dawn a Jets Jersey. They are going to love him.
Chad Pennington got tore up because he simply isn't a Good/Great Starter in the NFL. Brett has the Arm Stregnth to suceed and holds every major record. This is exactly what they needed. The Offensive Line was upgraded big time. The Running game will now be awesome and Defenses will be limited on how many times they put 8 in the box. It's not the same as having Pennington or Clemens in the game. This offense will do some things along with a Much Improved Defense.
I applaud the Jets Management for getting this done!

The Packers Secondary is very, very thin. Al Harris is WAY OVERRATED and Charles Woodsen should be a Safety now.
At the beginning of the season, no one knew who Brett was going to Hand the ball of too or Pass the ball too. Too many young guys that had no experience. They played that well because of Brett Favre.

This is too good to be true.
Mr. "i just want to win" went to the one place where he wont win. Captain egotastic's magical manic ride is finally nearing an end. Wait until they boo him for throwing his signature shovel pass on 3rd and 22 [and getting 8 yards] after incompleting attempts of 49 and 47 yards.
I also heard that he has to spend at least 4 hours prep-ing for each game and has to be photographed with the backup QB at least once every other week. Although, he stipulated that he is not required to go within 50 feet of said QB.
This will serve as a warning to any washed-up pro that cant let go. people will say "remember what happened to favre". the answer will be "no, whatever happened to him?" that will be the hardest thing for brett to swallow.

At long last! Thankfully! Mercifully! The never ending, ugly Bratt Favre saga comes to an end! Enjoy the Old Man, Jets fans! Bring buckets and mops to mop up for the copious tears you'll see on a regular basis!
Now the Packers faithful can get on with their lives! Bratt's held them emotionally dependent and hostage long enough!
