Edmonds won't discuss La Russa spat

With the Cardinals coming to Wrigley Field, it means a second reunion of St. Louis manager Tony La Russa and center fielder Jim Edmonds. "Tony who?" Edmonds said when asked if he had any thoughts about his former manager. Any thoughts about playing your ex-teammates? "No, I don't," he replied. Traded to San Diego after last season, Edmonds now patrols center field for the Cubs in a platoon with Reed Johnson. On his return to Busch Stadium at the beginning of July, he and La Russa exchanged barbs through the media, with Edmonds finally saying, "I think he's just trying to stir it up."

Jim Edmonds, unlike that overrated drunk and steroid enabler Tony LaRussa, actually has class. Tony thinks he invented the game, Edmonds just goes out and enjoys playing it.

La Russa is stiring it up because he doesn't remember what happen in the first place. so he is hoping the Edmonds will spill the details so he knows what happens... Blackouts suck

Moe:

Yea, I think LaRussa thinks very highly of himself. He really reminds me alot of the Pat Riley we know now as compared to the Pat Riley of the mid-late 80's.

Jim Edmonds sucks. Overrated prima donna who's got lips like Fat Albert. Tony LaRussa should shove an anvil up his tail.

Jimmy Edmonds will be laughing all the way to the World Series this year. This is a non-issue.

Perhaps this should be the voluptuous dames discussion thread.

Tony invented hta game.. didn't he tell you that.. Geezz i'd rather poke a stick in my eye then read that Three Nights in August crap.. LaRussa is so past his prime.. and his ego needs its on team bus...

it is amazing what happens when a player puts on the light blue pin stripes i couldn't stand edmonds when he was a cardinal. now that he is a cub i can enjoy his comeback story, as for tony well his previous comments just show how little class he has but for a drunk enabler what do you expect

People.....people.......Edmonds and LaRussa were both just stirring stuff up during the last series. I don't think either of them are serious at all, and I don't think there is a rift in the least.

I don't know about that. I heard Edmonds is bringing Scott Rolen with him as back-up !!!

Tony is the best manager in the game today bar none! Look at what he has done this year. The baby bears and brewers were supposed to be competitors, but the Cards were in a rebuilding year and they are right in the thick of things. All Managers, players, owners, etc. have huge egos that is how they got where they are. Jimmy is good, I hated to see him go, but he is passed his prime and still believes he has a lot to give.

Moe: I don't know who your favorite team is, but I can promise you some of them were using steroids and their manager was turning a blind eye to it as well. Unfortunately it was what the game was. Sosa was just as juiced as Mcgwire, one difference is Big Mac was hitting homeruns before he got big.
