Dolphins talking to Pennington
The Dolphins are attempting to enter the sweepstakes for quarterback Chad Pennington. Miami already has situated itself to engage in deeper discussions to acquire the quarterback who was a casualty in New York as a result of the Favre trade. Miami vice president of football operations Bill Parcells, who served in a similar role with the Jets in 2000 when the team drafted Pennington, currently has interest in acquiring the quarterback once again. The team engaged in preliminary discussions with Pennington's agent, Tom Condon, about a potential acquisition early Thursday afternoon, two sources said Thursday.

Every team knew he was getting released. Why would you trade anything for a guy that consistently gets hurt, has a weak arm, a long delivery, and is paid way too much money to sit on a bench.
Teams just don't give away draft picks. You know when a team is going to cut someone. Like RB Lamont Jordan for instance. Why do you trade something for an OKAY player that costs a lot of money?
