Why Stars won't sign Parrish

The Stars have no interest in signing free agent RW Mark Parrish. It's not that the Stars don't think Parrish could help, it's just that they are getting close to the cap, and they really believe they have some talented options at wing. Co-GM Les Jackson said Fabian Brunnstrom and Loui Eriksson (who are both left-handed left wings) can play the right side, and he added that Sean Avery actually prefers the RW when not playing center. So while Dallas has vey few right-handed shots, that doesn't mean they don't have options at RW. Brunnstrom, who was excused from the prospects camp this summer, will join the team for the rookie tournament in Traverse City, Mich. Sept. 12.

This is in the MMA section? Funny... Dana White must be looking to start an NHL division since fights are down in the league the past few years...

Why Stars won't sign Parrish?

Because they don't want to?

..... or the Flames! Oh, no! Wait! He's not old enough and has a little too much talent for the Flames!

August 8, 2008  02:11 PM ET

I agree with bostongm..., Parrish in Toronto would be a great fit! Of course..., they need to forget about a certain #13 and move one. Parrish on a line with Blake and Antropov would be a decent first line. Toronto needs guys like Parrish..., he could net 35-40 in blue and white!

August 8, 2008  02:46 PM ET

No one NEEDS Parrish. Could some team use him, I am sure there are a bunch. But no one needs a guy like Parrish.
