Diawara wanted out of Denver

In two seasons with the run-and-gun Denver Nuggets, swingman Yakhouba Diawara struggled to find his role behind Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony. Now in Miami, Diawara hopes for a better opportunity to complement Dwyane Wade and Shawn Marion. Diawara, 25, who played briefly with the Heat's summer-league team in 2005, said he chose a reunion of sorts in Miami over interest from a couple of other teams. But he said a return to Denver, where he started 33 of 113 games in two seasons, was not among his options.

this guy is gonna be an all-star and defensive player of the year next year guaranteed. then the nuggets will be sorry. Look out Miami is a dynasty in the making.

im a miami fan. but u are insane. its a dynasty(in the making) when they can get a big man to put at center, until than they are going to get dominated.

Who?

August 9, 2008  10:05 AM ET

Well, I wouldn't want to play in Denver either.....

August 9, 2008  10:13 AM ET

when u come 2 my heat u better bring your A game son!

Miami a dynasty in the making? Wow, step away from the sizzurp and drink some water my friend. DWade may be gone after this season, along with Marion. Pat Riley quit on this team, because when the going gets tough, Pat's hip acts up.

I don't blame Diawara for leaving, because honestly what could you possibly learn about getting better as a player with that team, but Miami is a rebuilding process in the making, not a dynasty.

Diawara is a great defensive player, very physical but he has trouble to adjust his shoot to the NBA game. Nevertheless he is a great role player.

August 9, 2008  10:59 AM ET

Do you pronounce his name "Diawara" like that watery bowel movement you sometimes have ???

Miami has a good squad for the future with Beasley and Wade (providing he stays) and the missing piece is the centre and if chalmers doesnt pan out then the pg also but also remmeber d wade is basically like the point guard as he brings the ball up quite often.

Who?

vaughn9 | 08/09/08, 10:02 AM

Yakhouba Diawara.

August 9, 2008  01:38 PM ET

he just wants to party in sobe

August 9, 2008  02:05 PM ET

We arent so bad if DWade moves to the point

DWade
Shawn Marion
Beasley
Haslem
Mourning

even now i love Quinn's game...i have to admit it.. He and Chalmers splitting time isn't a bad point guard by committee resolution...So where does DWright fit in all this? hmmm....

August 9, 2008  02:06 PM ET

and yes, Marion had split time at the 2, 3 and 4.

August 9, 2008  02:20 PM ET

who?

August 9, 2008  02:26 PM ET

Sweet... A bench guy that played 5 minutes every other game wanted out. Who cares? Does Scott Boras represent NBA players too?

August 9, 2008  02:35 PM ET

I never heard of him...who cares about this.

August 9, 2008  02:55 PM ET

A move to Miami will make him miss Denver a lot more than Denver misses him. Who is this guy? Anybody know?

August 9, 2008  03:04 PM ET

He's a bench small forward/shooting guard. He's played here in Denver the last 3 years. Last year, he rarely played if the game wasn't out of hand one way or the other. He can get hot with the 3 now and then, but it's rare, so he is somewhere around the 9th or 10th man.

Yeah, no one will even remember that he is gone...
