Arizona RB ejected for punch

University of Arizona starting tailback Nic Grigsby was kicked out of scrimmage work for fighting, but the Wildcats showed they might have more depth at that position this season. Grigsby, who was hit low by cornerback Devin Ross while running around the corner early in a 100-play scrimmage at Arizona Stadium on Saturday, was ejected after throwing a punch. Grigsby, the Wildcats' starter a year ago, was left running stadium stairs and then stood on the sideline the rest of the night. "It was a selfish act," UA coach Mike Stoops said. "It's not the discipline and the way we coach. He has to have more poise than that. It won't happen again. I'm pretty sure of that."

WooHoo... atleast the kid is showing a little competetive fire

Maybe he thought his own teammate was going after his knees. That shouldn't be the way to practice either there.....UA.

Nic Grigsby was just doing his Steve Smith impersonation.

Maybe it was a "hit to fit" session and he felt like the guy was taking a cheap shot?

Exactly. In the pros, you get to punch TWO teammates before there are any consequenses. The kid is just getting himself ready for the League.

Going from starter to "fighting" for a starting position. To bad he was fighting the wrong guy.

Wow an Arizona defender looking to injure someone...weird. Stoops prides himself on injuring the other teams players. Should care more about getting out of the Pac-10 gutter. Guess if you can't make a bowl, have to hang your hat on something.

That's just his combine. He needs to get his numbers up.

The heat must have made him think he was at the Univ of Miami.

Since when was fighting in practice a bad thing. Maybe the coach should serve cake and tea. :>)
