NBA star Luol Deng is focused on Great Britain's summer's program after wrapping up a lucrative new deal with the Chicago Bulls. I wish the best for Ben. I know how difficult negotiations can be - the two sides have to meet somewhere," said Deng. "Hopefully they'll meet because having Ben, he's a great player and we'd like to have him back."

shhhhhhhhhh......
no one cares what you think luol

August 12, 2008  09:25 AM ET

Deng is not a star.......... In fact last year he played so awful and we heard so little of him, he might as well have gone to Europe... He could sign with the Hungry Soup Bowls

August 12, 2008  10:00 AM ET

Shut up Deng. The Bulls should have gave Gordon the big contract and traded your sorry ****.

August 12, 2008  10:13 AM ET

ur not the owner lu so just shut up...ur not worth the money either...and im definitely not paying 10 million PLUS for a short guy that cant play defense and its a very hot and cold shooter....and a sixth man nonetheless...

exactly where do you think these people EARNED these contracts...the only thing they had going for them is like a regular **** job..."ive worked here for 5 years..i deserve a huge **** raise" when in SPORTS you have to PERFORM and when you dont PLAY DEFENSE....you ARENT WORTH THE 10 MILLION DOLLARS!

August 12, 2008  10:16 AM ET

i keep saying this over and over and over and over and over and over again...

look how BAD these guys played last year...look how bad WE were last year...and all we had to do was give up Deng..FOR KOBE **** BRYANT!!!! ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS GIVE UP DENG!!!!!! sure theres salary exceptions and all that crap that coulda been worked out....but just...think about it..the only reason why we didnt get kobe in the beginning of last season was because they werent going to give up Deng of all players....

we end up taking larry hughes....and we could have had kobe bryant???

if u were willing to trade ben wallace and all that crap...then why wasnt the trade wallace, deng, money, and a 1st round pick for the next two years...for Kobe....hm???

Of course deng would like to have Gordon back. The $70 million Gordon is asking for isn't comming out of Deng's pocket.

August 12, 2008  10:43 AM ET

Sorry; I got a little excited. Coming

August 12, 2008  11:18 AM ET

gordon can go play for the silly nannies

August 12, 2008  11:57 AM ET

I'm sure the Bulls would want Gordon back. Just not for 70 Million. If Ben was smart he should just take another one year deal and hope some team gets in to him next season.

August 12, 2008  12:08 PM ET

Gordon should go play for CSKA Moscow or Olympiakos in Greece. They don't play D in Europe right?

August 12, 2008  05:25 PM ET

Bulls need a roster overhaul.

Some of these comments are mean!
Anyway, I do wonder if the Bulls franchise thrives on these ongoing tabloid-type disputes over money.
Ever since the heyday of GM Jerry Krause back in the 80's, there have always been stories of Bulls players wanting more money, and Bulls management skimping and short-changing their players.

of course you know. you've been the same kind of idiot who got lucky in the end

August 13, 2008  12:34 PM ET

It's a known fact that Deng tanked last year in the first half because of the constant trade rumors for Kobe. In fact, that was the reason why the team gave up on Skiles. Later that year, the coach was fired and the trade was made to the Cavs (same division/conference). Look for Deng to upgrade his play based on his new money and hopefully a system designed to take advantage of his play style.
