The next Super Bowl is really going to rock. This year, Tom Petty rocked the halftime crowd at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. But Super Bowl XLIII on Feb. 1 in Tampa will feature Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, sources said. "He was just confirmed," a spy added. "Little Stevie (Van Zandt) has already rented out the Hard Rock Caf?? for a party."

Big Deal

August 12, 2008  07:56 AM ET

They should hire a death metal band for the halftime show

August 12, 2008  07:57 AM ET

Springsteen sucks. Not that I pay attention to the halftime show to begin with but I will make a point to change the channel so I don't have to hear that overrated scratchy-voice.

August 12, 2008  08:07 AM ET

I would rather watch more commercials than see that halftime show.

August 12, 2008  08:08 AM ET

I sure dont want to see his nip.
He had his day and puts on a hell of show. I lost respect after Born in the USA....from rock and roll poet to pop money ****.

August 12, 2008  08:12 AM ET

WOW ... no love for Bruce ...

August 12, 2008  08:15 AM ET

Enough with the geriatric rockers appearing at the Superbowl!

When is the NFL going to wise up and feature the Lingerie Bowl?

August 12, 2008  08:17 AM ET

He's washed up and bashes the president etc...so why should he
be part of the super bowl? He cheated on his wife, and is not
a good example for kids!

August 12, 2008  08:20 AM ET

Since when is a rock star a good example for kids? Oh yeah, forgot about Keith Richards.

August 12, 2008  08:28 AM ET

Sooner or later, they are going to run out of safe old rockers to fill the halftime show. Oh well, at least they're not booking Miley Cyrus.

August 12, 2008  08:32 AM ET

Couldn't understand a darn thing he said back when he was a popular singer, can't understand him any better now. It was easier to understand Bob Dylan when he stepped up to the mic. Isn't anybody else available?

August 12, 2008  08:39 AM ET

Well he does have a new song out "I HATE THE USA"

August 12, 2008  08:39 AM ET

He'll probably avoid playing his hits like he does in his concerts. When you sit through a 3 hour show and don't hear the 3 songs you came to hear its annoying.
I really don't care who plays as I'm checking my bets and getting rid of the first half's chicken wings.

Come on lady....his old stuff is classic. East St Shuffle, and Born to Run. Bob Dylan is so underappreciated and infuriates me. He gets mocked because of his aged voice (which I understand). All one has to do is pull out one of his early albums...lyrics will blow ya away.

Dosnt AZ have any artists? Why a fella from Jersey.

August 12, 2008  08:48 AM ET

Hey Rob This years Superbowl will be in Tampa.

August 12, 2008  08:49 AM ET

I didnt want you to make plane reservations to the wrong place

August 12, 2008  08:53 AM ET

Hmmm, yeah thanks Buckguy. Wondered why the reservations were all so cheap.

August 12, 2008  08:53 AM ET

Lady's Coach is right, He could get up on stage and swear and bash the US and no one will understand a word he says. Bruce has always had a great band, but his voice is horrible. Sounds like he gargles with rusty razor blades.

BTW Lady, did you see Coach Belichick last Thursday night. He was all dressed up like he was going to the prom. Had a fresh haircut, collared shirt, tucked in. And I swear I saw him smiling.
