Auburn undecided at quarterback
Kodi Burns and Chris Todd aren't just trying to prove who's the best passer and runner. Auburn's two quarterback hopefuls are also under the gun to display leadership, harness any frustrations they might feel and handle the fatigue that comes with two practices a day in the August heat. Equally challenging, they also have to avoid obsessing over who will start against Louisiana-Monroe on Aug. 30. Coach Tommy Tuberville said Monday the coaches intend to wait until sometime after the second scrimmage later this week to choose a starter. Offensive coordinator Tony Franklin has said he wouldn't be against playing both if neither puts some distance between the other.

Better pick one... you know the old saying, if I have two QB's I actually have none.

Burns looked good in the bowl game against Clemson. I would let him start.

Worked fror LSU and Florida. As I recall they both won national Championships with two QB's. Trouble is that we are in the same dilema this year.

Maybe the RB can play some QB, just like Dick Rod's team in the Big House!!!

The only thing is that Florida and LSU had two QB's with contrasting styles, i.e. pocket passer vs. athletic. It worked b/c it kept the defenses on their toes and did not let them adapt to either QB. Auburn is debating upon two athletic QB's. UF and LSU also started Leak and Flynn respectively; it's tough on the players and coaches not knowing who your starting QB is going to be. It's nice having two good QB's, but it's even nicer to have one designated starter for the season.

Good point How 'bout 'em. These two guys aren't like Perriloux and Flynn or Leak and Tebow. Both of these guys are pretty similar.

One of my best friends lives in Alabama, and on the news they had a feature made by fans in which they found out what games fans were most scared of, ULM at Auburn was number 1! Lol!

Now that's funny right there. And I'm scared of the Appy State game. There is an awesome video on Dandydon.com that you should check out LSU. It's in today's update down in readers comments. It's Appy states inspirational video about playing LSU. It's well done.

If App State can pull off a win against LSU, and I'm not saying that I think they will, that might make the Michigan faithful feel a LITTLE better about having lost to them last year. I think it would also make App State feel damn near invincible!

LSU+USA, that was clearly a pro Bama station. I haven't heard any Auburn fans that were scared of ULM. If there was a game Auburn fans are scared might sneak up on them, it'd probably be Ole Miss.
Everyones looking forward to laughing while we beat ULM

Auburn have you learned nothing from Tennessee. The two quarterback system of going with whichever guy has the hot hand just doesn't work in the long run. Pick one guy and give him a shot. He might struggle but that is a part of the learning process.

Chris Todd has been running that system since high school. Should know the ins and outs. But, by all means, if Kodi grasps the offense as well, and shows that he can make the right reads, his athleticism would be awesome to have under center.
Above all else, a quarterback's #1 job is NOT TO LOSE THE FOOTBALL GAME.
Whichever one can make the right decisions, stick him out there.

the spread option will not work in the sec there is to much speed in the sec for it to work it will work really good in the big slow 10

The spread will not work in the SEC. It is predicated on wearing down the defensive ends and outside linebackers so that later in the game you get 5+ yards instead of 2-3+ at the beginning. Most of the top SEC teams have 2 or 3 deep DEs and OLBs that they rotate thoughout the game to keep fresh. Most of those are very fast as well. Depending on how deep and fast the other teams are in the Big10 will determine its success at UM. Also, similar to the old wishbone the 3 interior lineman really are key. If significantly outmatched against the defense's interior 2 then the entire thing breaks down (ala Michigan, Georgia, Auburn). LSU and Georgia will rip Florida again this year for the above mentioned reasons. Ohio State is very strong, deep and fast so UM will have to have more then just the spread to beat them.

heres a peice of advice auburn fans. u run both qb's at the beginning of the season, u find out whos better, and then go with them. Not that it will matter when you guys come up to morgantown, pat white will teach you a thing or two about the spread offense.
And the spread offense will work in the sec, florida's run a variant of the spread for the past coupla years under urban meyer with great sucess, plus WVU beat georgia in the 06 sugar bowl with it, and a decent miss state team with it last year.
LETS GO MOUNTAINEERS!!
