Dynamo Moscow coach David Blatt has his eye on former Hornets guard Jannero Pargo, who is being pursued by San Antonio and Denver. Those teams were offering a little more than $2 million. Pargo's agent, Mark Bartelstein, is using the interest in Russia as leverage with the NBA clubs.

could some one talk about REAL sports news please this nba players leaving the nba for europe is all hype and getting old

August 12, 2008  08:40 AM ET

2 million..if I budget I could live on 2 million bucks..

August 12, 2008  08:46 AM ET

Das vadanya, you greedy bench warmer!

August 12, 2008  08:58 AM ET

I'm still very surprised at how little interest (and $) he has drawn around the league....for all the stiffs getting exemption salaries & the kwame browns getting 4 mil per...he should be commanding the same.

Ther's got to be some off-court issues that we don't know about

Like jgb, I too am surprised. So many teams could use a good backup point guard and he's a good one. Hopefully someone steps up to the plate and make him an offer.

August 12, 2008  09:32 AM ET

I have to agree with jgb and RIP Bernie on this one. There are plenty of teams lacking in the PG backup dept.

August 12, 2008  09:40 AM ET

He's a legit PG that can't seem to get a realistic nibble. He'll probably go to Europe.

jgb, mabye it's his height he's only 6'-1" :-)

How much is Pargo looking for? He is being a bit greedy here. He is not CP3.

August 12, 2008  10:10 AM ET

good call pargo....smart move i would say

I agree 100%. Noone sems to know why New Orleans is letting Pargo walk, while supposedly looking to sign a back-up point guard. When you take into consideration that teams could have him on the cheap, it doesn't make sense that he's available. Where's Pat Riley, Danny Ferry, and Steve Kerr?

August 12, 2008  10:32 AM ET

Come on Pargo, 2 million in San Antonio is like 4 million anywhere else in the country. Cost of living in San Antonio is so low that the 2 million will take you very far

Just make sure when you go to Russia you are not paid in rublea! HAHAHA

Go already, he's a shameless gunner......

August 12, 2008  12:27 PM ET

By now I am sure that every player in the league has been asked if they would consider offers from other countries and every player has given a response. Now we get months of endless stories about players that would consider a move to Europe or Asia, even though no offer is on the table. Good old T&R. Give it up if it isn't substantiated.

The Hornets couldnt pay Pargo 2 million to stay? Pitiful

August 12, 2008  01:07 PM ET

Take the Russian deal and leave.
By the way, fannation, do you guys have a better pic of him than that?? He looks STONED!!!

August 12, 2008  02:51 PM ET

he will be a good add to whatever team he joins

August 12, 2008  04:06 PM ET

i believe if san antonians could each contribute a dollar towards his salary, we would. this sucks. it may all eventually be for the best to change the salary rules, but it's gonna make for a crappy year losing all this talent.

August 12, 2008  04:08 PM ET

Texasmade, very good point. But you gotta remember, a Cadillac Escalade is a Cadillac Escalade and it's the same price everywhere. I just wish these guys would smarten up. He'd be a fool to go to Denver and to go to Russia would be a train wreck. How could anyone not want to stay in the NBA? Why can't we pay him more? Stern?

How is he getting less money than Hinrich?
