Injured D-Back in trade limbo

Here's the likely holdup on the Reds getting Micah Owings as one of the players to be named in the Adam Dunn trade to Arizona: An injured player cannot be placed on waivers. Owings, a 25-year-old right-hander, is one of two players to-be-named in the deal. Owings was scratched from his scheduled Triple-A start Wednesday with what was reported in Arizona as shoulder stiffness.

Yeah.......I suppose you are right. 8 wins against teams that are less than .500 is considered good in your neck of the woods. They only played one team with a winning record and lost 2 of 3. oh hum.

I think Twink was simply making an observation in regards to the lack of articles to even talk about. And therefore with the Yankees in 3rd suddenly the FN guys have no articles to post...

Just to stay with the spirit of things...........Is Owings agent Scott Boras? Do you think maybe this injury is to keep from being traded. Thanks A Fact!

If it's to keep from being traded that kid is gonna have to really streatch out that sore shoulder. But no- I have no idea who his agent is. And you're welcome Twinkee- eventhough my team is stinkin it up in the Central I respect what you're club has always been able to pull off, now you just have to make sure you beat out the ChiSux...

No read the story. all sides should have had their players the agreedapond....... What in the ****** is this guy doing starting for his old team? Thats why this story seems so strange ....Dunn is his new team. And how many days is it now his other player hasnt shownup? Transactions are suppose to happen with in a period of time. With each team getting what they agreed apond. Now we are seeing this story if its even true or not popingup?

Dude,.........9-3, is 9-3.......everybody in this league plays sub-500 teams. Think before you speak, and you might actually sound intelligent

Laughs ................For people to TRY to stick with the topic subject........
Grossedout9 | 08/14/08, 08:52 AM

Ok just for you........I went and read the article.......yes the kid did start for his "old club" (still being a memeber until traded) and got hurt. He was not put on waivers because of the injury. He will be put on waivers as soon as he gets healthy. No other club will be able to claim him because ifin they do then the D'Backs will pull him off waivers and wait until the end of the year to give him to the Reds. He will play for the Reds if not this year then next for sure. Unless the Reds trade him.

Logic? Rules? You mean those do exist somewhere on the web?
