Personal attacks bother Rodgers

The Brett Favre Saga is over. The Aaron Rodgers Saga is far from over. Even without the soap opera qualities of the last three weeks, Rodgers had plenty of pressure in his future. Replacing a legend is not easy work. It becomes even more difficult when the departed legend wanted to return. To that end, Rodgers has been under a more intense microscope. Favre fans have not just been supporting Favre with their words; they've been going after Rodgers. And many haven't minced words. After the morning practice Friday, Rodgers talked about some of the abuse directed at him. "I understand it to some point if I put myself into a Favre fanatic's shoes," Rodgers said of getting booed. "The things I can't understand, the things I really take personally, is when I'm driving up to the (parking lot) gate and punching in my punch code and somebody says (expletive) to me. That kind of bothers me. "Or when a little kid is yelling swear words at me. That kind of gets to me. They expect a high level of play and they miss Brett Favre. I understand that. But the (expletive) and the little kids saying swear words to me, I don't understand that."

Boo-hoo...I need a kleenex to wipe my tears.....
Hey Rogers you don't need to drive up the gate to hear
it...."F Y"

This is a bad sign for Packer's fans. You need to pull a TO and not give a **** what any rational adult (or child) thinks. Just do your thing.

I love how the GB fans have taught thier kids to swear at the QB. Nothing but class up there.

rodgers career hasn't been fun for him so far. fans rarely embrace the guy that follows a franchise legend.

Pretty much a no win situation.

August 14, 2008  08:25 AM ET

Get used to it, Rodgers. I don't see things changing anytime soon.

August 14, 2008  08:27 AM ET

Let his saeason speak for him.........Really i wouldnt want to be him if the packers start 0-3

August 14, 2008  08:27 AM ET

The worst part of this whole situation is that Green Bay fans worship a QB that was less than stellar in his career. Sure he won a Superbowl and had some great games, but he's not in the league of the greatest QB's. His interception stats are horrible. But, I guess there isn't much else to be happy about in Wisconsin anyway.

August 14, 2008  08:32 AM ET

You are either a Favre fan there or a Packer fan. You cannot be both. He should just let it go and realize that.

Dang Jackman, keyboard fall apart as you were typing?

August 14, 2008  08:46 AM ET

wow. and this board is known for its intelligence? fans can be idiots. It follows that idiot fans give birth to ill mannered idiot children. The reason bs articles like this get published is because the media is desperate for stories, especially ones that stir up controversy.

Rodgers is the only participant who's conducted himself well in this whole drawnout tedious saga.

50yearfan | 08/14/08, 08:32 AM

Someone Rodgers respects should tell him that. I know it helped me to hear something similar from a friend here at FN after I deleted myself from FN about 12 or 13 days ago because of a few of the mostly idiotic posters who were getting under my skin. I was gone for about 24 hours. Did you miss me? =-]

August 14, 2008  08:54 AM ET

Hey Cheesedaddy,
I agree with you in more ways than one.

August 14, 2008  08:54 AM ET

Packers fans are too dense to realize the interception machine they love is going to be in NY playing for the jets.

Rejoice Pack fans, you will not have to close your eyes at the end of every game thats close...knowing Brett the "Pick man" Farve is tossing another prayer.

Among the worst QB's of all time to ever win a super bowl. Dont get me wrong...Eli Manning is much much worse.

Embrace Rodgers. Unless you just cant get past the whole "Lets not try to throw interceptions" thing Aaron is trying to introduce to Packer offensive philosophy.

August 14, 2008  08:57 AM ET

If a little kid said swear words to me, I punch that little biotch in the face! Don't worry Aaron. Just throw for over 4,000 yards this season with 20-25 TDs and maybe it'll stop.

August 14, 2008  09:00 AM ET

wow...let the kid play before you ream him a new one. the only one really hurt in all this crap is going to be aaron rodgers. he has no margin for error at all anymore.

give him a break people. all this is doing is showing just how classy football fans can be...and i know classy...i am an eagles fan. :o)
