Cowboys owner likes Bennett
Obviously, the Cowboys owner is biased since he traded Anthony Fasano to Miami, used a second-round pick on Martellus Bennett and guaranteed him more than $1 million. A small group of us watched about 15 minutes of practice with Jerry Jones. He spent much of that time talking about Bennett. The most important thing to Jerry is Bennett's ability to block. When he showed that on one running play, Jerry was thrilled. That's because the Cowboys want to use a lof of formations with two tight ends. If Bennett can block as well as Witten, then the defense can't assume the Cowboys will run behind Witten. It will give the offense tremendous flexibility. "I know he can catch," Jones said seconds before Bennett ran a nice crossing route and caught a pass for about a 15-yard gain. At that point, Jerry walked away with a wide smile.

of course Jerry likes his choices ... and nobody should second guess them ... *cough, cough* ... coaches between Jimmy J and the Tuna, 10 QBs between Aikman and Romo, etc, etc, etc ...

I like Bennett. Dallas is nothing else if not a Tight End making machine.

Well if Jerry said it, it must be so. Poor Wade, he is now third behind Jones and Garrett in player evaluations.

There's a great program on HBO called Hard Knocks that is an inside/embedded look at the Dallas Cowboys training camp this year. Its really great, but the one thing you take away from the show is how lazy and disconnected Bennett is from what his coaches say. His performance is awful and his body language atrocious. He even laughs at the TE coach on the last episode I saw last night.
Hes the embodiment of what you DONT want a draft pick to be. This article is a joke. Dont believe the hype, watch the program and see for yourself.

No doubt...Bennett better grow the heck up...he might be the laziest pro football player (in practice) that I've ever seen. If he was practicing in 100+ degree heat in Texas instead of 70s/80s of Oxnard, how much $h!tt!er would he look out there? He pisses me off with his attitude, I'm not gonna lie.

So will the Cowboys win another superbowl before Jones messes up the team that Parcells held his hand putting together?

It could be the reason they are thinking of using a lot of two TE formations is because they do not really have three wideouts good enough.
I suspect Felix Jones will get a lot more passes than any of them....

JJ still has a bad case of Colonvision when it comes to being objective. I Still cant believe he hired Barry Switzer to replace Jimmy.

Inside word on Bennett is that he's lazy, lacks enthusiasm, doesn't seem to want to excel. And they traded a player that worked hard and made the effort to get the most out of his talent. Bennett was the same in college...all the tools, all of them, and didn't excel like he should have. Jerry can say he's all that, but two years at most before they cut him loose. Remember Hart Lee ****? You're looking at a clone.
