Ex-Sooner Jarboe headed to Troy

Josh Jarboe, a highly regarded wide receiver recruit who was kicked off the team at Oklahoma two weeks ago, has decided to enroll at Troy. Jarboe signed a letter of intent to play with Oklahoma in February, but in May he pleaded guilty to charges of bringing a gun to Cedar Grove High School in Georgia and carrying a pistol without a license. A judge reduced the charges to misdemeanors because Jarboe was a first-time offender and sentenced him to two years of probation and 80 hours of community service. Oklahoma decided to honor the letter of intent and let Jarboe keep his scholarship. Sooners coach Bob Stoops dismissed Jarboe on Aug. 1 after an Internet video surfaced of the teenager rapping about guns and shooting people. Jarboe was considered one of the top wide receiver prospects in the country.

Hmmm... they still let Snoop show up at USC

He's not a player representing that school. I'm sure if Snoop was an OU fan, he could attend a practice. Toby Keith does from time to time.

Toby Keith raps?!?!?

August 14, 2008  11:37 AM ET

No, Toby Keith "sings" country music...

... about guns and shooting people.

I heard the rap. In my opinion Stoops overreacted.

I'm so tired of the "Hug a Thug" era in college sports. Thank goodness coaches are releasing these guys. Geaux Perilloux!

Good thing Stoops let this guy go, he was nothing but trouble, a bad influence. We don't want thugs on the team, we don't need thugs... I'm hoping the last of the Sooner thug teams are gone with the likes of Switzer, although Switzer was a good coach. Hopefully we can pick it up, play consistent, and shut the pass down this year, we should contend for a title...
