Why Bucks got rid of Mo Williams

No. Luke Ridnour is not as good a basketball player as Mo Williams. And Damon Jones can't even dribble. Still, this is a very good move. What I mean is the point guard position on the Milwaukee Bucks has been upgraded because of one simple fact: Williams and Michael Redd just did not work. At all. We're talking about no chemistry whatsoever, no conversation on the court, and they barely even passed the rock to each other. Williams is a hybrid guard and he should work well for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have put the basketball squarely in the hands of their franchise player, LeBron James. Mo can shoot and he can run, but directing an NBA team from the point guard position takes vision, and he has yet to prove that he has that on this level, although his numbers are more than respectable in comparison to other starting point guards in the NBA.

Who cares?, The NBA is FIXED. These off-season trades are just designed to create fan interest and drama, in the end the league wants a Boston - LA final so they can make all that big TV revenue.

...directing an NBA team from the point guard position takes vision, and he has yet to prove that he has that on this level, Yeah; it's hard to see the open man when you're focused on the basket. This is just another in a series of dumbass moves by Danny Ferry and the Cavaliers--and at a bargain basement price of $41 million. I can't wait to hear what they have to say, when LeBron announces he's opting out.

Williams contract keeps Cleveland from getting the player they really need.

You've posted this same drivel all week. If you're not an NBA fan, why don't you go pee in the baseball pool. By now everyone on the basketball threads has heard what you have to say, and we're not interested.

Redd is in the picture

People complain of the NBA being fixed

And Mo Williams on the Cavs actually happened, this was rumored a few days ago.

Interesting week

i did a throwdown on this a few days ago too defending the move and it actually happened.

Agree with Hllywd. I think this is another patch the hole move by Ferry. LeBron needs a sidekick. A Pippen to his Jordan if you will, and Mo Williams isn't it.

There are good complimentary guys out there. If he stops screwing around he might be able to deal for one.

Wally Szczerbiak has a 13 million dollar expiring contract.... He'll be traded around midseason before the trade deadline to a team looking to dump salary... The Cavs will pick up another big peice to make a push for a title at that time. In the meantime they got the best point gaurd the team has seen since they traded Andre Miller in 2002. Addtionally the Cavs haven't had a player that has averaved more than 17 ppg (other than Lebron) since Lebron has been on the team. Good move Ferry!

Why Bucks got rid of Mo Williams...

Well, if the picture is correct, then I would have to conclude that Mo was traded because he LOOKS JUST LIKE MICHAEL REDD!

On the MMA truth and rumors, these SI editors have repeatedly placed the wrong picture of Manny Pacquaio too.

Here they talk about Mo Williams yet they inexplicably place Michael Redd in the photo.

How about some accuracy SI?

August 14, 2008  01:04 PM ET

its funny how they said "and they barely even passed the rock to each other." i dont think that michael redd or mo williams ever passed the ball to anybody

August 14, 2008  01:06 PM ET

I guess an idiot took that photo as well as wrote that article.

August 14, 2008  01:07 PM ET

I noticed that on the MMA T&R too. They had Juan Manuel Marquez in the pic, not Manny Pacquaio. Yet they were discussing a Manny vs Oscar topic.

This isnt the first time SI botched the pictures on the NBA thread. What a shame. A puclication as big and known as SI should do a better job. I hope theyre reading this bec it is a slight not only to the athletes and to us readers as well.

this is so typical of the Milwaukee Bucks. They are about as dedicaed to winning as the Ford family. I am soo tired of this B.S,!
