Roma to sign Inter's Suazo

Reports today have indicated that Honduran striker David Suazo is close to signing for Roma from rivals Inter Milan. Inter coach Jose Mourinho is keen to decrease the squad size, leaving the door open for Suazo to catch the train to Rome. The move would allow the 28-year-old striker more playing time - something he is lacking at his current employers.

Roma is making some smart moves of late, they also brought in Julio Baptista from Real Madrid today as well. As much as I hate seeing Baptista leave Madrid, I do hope he catches on at Roma and makes a bigger name for himself.

We'll have to see how well Mourinho's cutting of the fat benefits Inter Milan. This is a good move for Suazo, he deserves better than being on the shelf at a club like Inter.
I'll bet he scores against Milan in their first meeting.

Roma need these quality players so they dont squashed 5-0 by Spurs and get dominated in Europe

Suazo was a worthless buy for Inter

Supposedly they are about to lose Adriano for at least three weeks and Zlatan has been injured for a while. I suppose they can get by with Crespo, Balotelli and Cruz though. Mancini can play striker as well.

I like this move along with the Julio Baptista move. Not bad acquisitions by Roma.

Adriano is out till something like Octoboer, pantehrFan. I wish Inter had just let Milan have Suazo last year. He would've really helped at the beginning of last season.

Thanks Gravity. That's quite a blow for Inter. It isn't quite as bad as Man U losing Rooney and Ronaldo, but it isn't going to help. Suazo was never a good fit at Inter Milan. I wish him the best of luck at Roma, but I feel like he will never be the elite striker on the elite team. Just the solid striker who puts up big numbers to keep middling clubs out of relegation.

I agree w/ you grav.

Suazo and Baptista could provide the physical presence Roma lacks up top. It will greaty complement Totti, Vucinic and the wingers.

I really like the "Beast" Baptista move, as Roma need that physical lone striker that Totti and Vucinic can play off of. With Suazo, even an injured Totti won't be unbearable, as the formation can be amended if Suazo and Baptista are healthy. Back to Julio Baptista, I'm really high on this guy and I want to see him play on a regular basis. The game-winner against Barca last year--yet it was a crime he never saw quality time behind Raul and Ruud. Same with Arsenal when he had a 5 or 6 goal game in the League Cup but wasn't given much first team action all year. Hopefully he gets plenty of opportunity at Roma and proves all his past managers wrong when he contends for the Serie A scoring title.

Bautista is all size and strength---never been a fan didn't do much at Arsenal, Real Madrid and won't do much at Roma. Suazo on the other hand is supremely talented technically and has speed to burn I'm glad he's going somewhere he'll be used properly.

I think Baptista is pretty overrated...he's still crusing largely off of those remarkable years at Sevilla and hasn't done a whole lot since then. When he was at Arsenal in particular, he looked slow, didn't do well with the ball, and didn't seem to use his legendary STRENGTH to any real advantage.

On the other hand, 9 million euro for a guy with his youth, talent and past accomplishments isn't a terrible investment.

I think Roma are making excellent moves by purchasing Julio, and possibly Suazo. I think Roma will be a serious contender this year with De Rossi establishing himself as one of the best in the world. All they lacked last year was a striker, and they now have one and possibly a 2nd. Totti may be fading, but he's still good for multiple moments of brilliance, and as he fades, De Rossi, Aquilani and Vucinic are rising to prominence. I'm picking Roma to Win something other then the Italian Cup this year.
