Ravens coach John Harbaugh said "there is a chance" that defensive end-linebacker Terrell Suggs could report to the team next week. Suggs has protested the franchise tag by sitting out training camp, which ends tomorrow. The Ravens kept Suggs from becoming a free agent this offseason by placing the franchise tag on the two-time Pro Bowl player. Suggs, 25, will earn $8.5 million this season. Asked if he had received any indication from Suggs that he would report next week, Harbaugh shook his head and said, "No."

$8.5 M is too good to pass up. Take it and make sure they can franchise you again next year!

i still think we should trade him, we don't need him like we need help on offense...as usual.

I don't think they have completely lost him like other teams have with their stars when they franchise them (like Jason Allen was for KC) but they definitely need to convince him that they still want him there. So they didn't get the del done like they wanted. Promise him that he won't be franchised next year or continue to work on a new deal for next year right now. Either way they need Suggs who is the future for them at the LB spot. Lewis is still good but age is starting to catch up with him.

Ok...Suggs is teed off and looking at Will Smith's deal and as he played many snaps at DE he would like some security, but seriously; veteran players whom are well-established and know the system are in no hurry to rush in to training camp for 90 plus, degree temperatures, many times in full pads and sometimes twice a day. Or, instead of holding out you could eat yourself into fatness and get put on the PUP list like my man Casey Hampton.
