USC's rash of unusual injuries and maladies continued when a door closed on running back Joe McKnight's right hand late Wednesday night, sending him to the emergency room with two injured fingers. McKnight practiced Thursday with his right middle and ring fingers taped, completing about half the workout. Afterward, the fingers bloodied as he approached the locker room, he said he had a slight fracture in the tip of one, but "it's not going to slow me down," from practicing or playing in the Trojans' Aug. 30 opener at Virginia. McKnight's mishap occurred after the team returned from the screening at Universal CityWalk. It was not the result of horseplay, according to Carroll, McKnight and several players.

"many Trojans have struggled with a skin irritation in the groin area."
LMAO. You would think if your team mascot is a TROJAN, that you would know better. Petey better talk to these boys. Jeesh.

Jock itch, door slams, freak dislocated knees... who put the voodoo curse on the Trojans? Tressel? Neuheisel? Chow?

August 15, 2008  08:49 AM ET

August 15, 2008  09:46 AM ET

OSU has 6 national championships and your team has how many? I believe just 3 if you're a LSU fan and by the way LSU and OSU are 1-1-1 in football. And lets talk about a conference championship last year that had Tennessee going but Georgia staying home...lucky LSU I guess. Go Bucks

August 15, 2008  09:54 AM ET

Did he ask the doc for anything to cure his jock itch while he was there?

August 15, 2008  10:02 AM ET

why is it people come on here make dumb comments about the SEC and "choose" to leave their profiles private?

August 15, 2008  10:03 AM ET

I'm pretty sure this article had nothing to do with championships or OSU, more about the weird things going on in SoCal...

August 15, 2008  10:04 AM ET

OO I STRUCK A NERVE I WOULD BE P 'ED OFF 2 IF I LOST BACK 2 BACK CHAMPIONSHIPS

August 15, 2008  10:05 AM ET

He was closing the door quickly to keep Jimmy Claussen and his beer bong out.

August 15, 2008  10:10 AM ET

A rash of injuries to the top teams so far. The only ones who have seemed to survive relatively intact is OSU and UMissouri.

Keith it was Marie Laveau! Our Vodoo witch down in the Louisiana Swamps! Ha! She said "Ya brung ya self to da wess Cose to play da foosball forsakin ya home team at da sem time. I put da hex on ya and ya tim fer da nex decade"

August 15, 2008  10:29 AM ET

Keep putting the hex on the Gators - they have what 5 ACLs now? Their fan base is probably the most obnoxious due to their success in the 90s and 2 years ago. Having arrogant coaches who write books about the top 1% of 1% and then allowing dope smoking AK47 shooting players on the team is the epitome of hypocritical.

August 15, 2008  10:31 AM ET

You didn't strike a nerve with me ****, I have said many times before that OSu cant talk until they win.

Just dont make comments like that, its uncalled for especially in this thread,

August 15, 2008  10:36 AM ET

That's what you get Joe, players at LSU are naturaly sanitized and deotorized, so they don't get jock itch, and they have doors that opne by themselves at LSU so they don't get your finger, I guess you just made a bad descision

For those of you who are idoits, that was a joke, so don't be a ****

I would have loved to have Joe play for LSU but how can a kid from Hurricane ravaged NOLA not want to play Football in Southern Freakin California. They also have a great track record of putting Running Backs in the NFL. I would like to ask one question. Who has had the more productive career? The Heisman trophy winner from USC Reggie Bush or the LSU Running back taken the same year Joeseph Addai?
