Wie fends off more criticism

Michelle Wie fended off yet another round of criticism before her final U.S. LPGA Tour appearance of the year in the Canadian Women's Open this week. "Everyone has their own opinion of what I should do, but I think that it's my life," Wie said on Wednesday. "I know there might be wrong decisions that I make and there might be right decisions that I make, but they're decisions that I make for myself. "And I think the only decision I can make is to be 100 percent supportive of myself and not doubt myself at all." The 18-year-old Stanford University student, down to No. 309 in the world, is using the last of her sixth sponsor exemptions for the season. She needs to win or finish second at Ottawa Hunt club to avoid a trip to q-school -- if she decides to try qualifying. "I haven't really decided anything yet," Wie said. "I think planning what's going to happen next year or this autumn is going to happen after this week. Right now, all I'm thinking about is how am I going to play good this week. How am I maybe going to possibly win this?" Asked if she would consider q-school, Wie replied, "I'm not going to think about the future right now."

Is Mickelson playing in this thing too?

Dear Michelle, there is nothing wrong with maybe listening to some advice once in awhile either. But hey, **** do us adults know, anyway?

I didn't realize that she was ranked No. 309!?!?!?!

What in the world is she doing playing mens' tourneys, then? The 300th ranked man probably wouldn't stand a chance of making the cut in a women's tourney. What makes anybody (her, her dad, the sponsors) think that the 300th woman in the world can make the cut in a men's tourney?

Her problem is that she isn't making decisions for herself. Her idiot father is making the decisions for her. If she would actually start making decisions for herself then she, perhaps, wouldn't be in this mess!!!!

Here's hoping that everybody gets a "reality check" after she ends up back at Q-school. (Yeah, no chance of that.)

Go away, Wie. PLEASE just go away.

If it comes down to Q school, then we will be seeing less and less of Michelle in the future, which she chooses to ignore. Being ranked 309 is sad, Nike must really be glad at all the money they threw at this failure. Considering all the failures she has endures, and not be open to criticism is baffling but indicitive of the problem. She got her money up front and has never had to produce anything.

She's going to be supportive of herself? What a novel idea. And she's not going to think about the future. Yep, another characteristic of successful people. Did Paris Hilton write those comments for her? They really make her sound dumb.

Wie why ??? or Why Wie ???

Wie put herself in this situation...nobody should feel sorry for her. That's what happens when you diss the LPGA and play in PGA events she has no business being in.Privately, the LPGA and some noted players are thrilled that they may not see her in 2009...she has turned out to be more than just a distraction.

If these are Wie's decisions than I would like to know what are the requirements to attend Stanford. Stanford U. is now accepting applications from anybody that makes bonehead decisions like Wie.

Wie was playing at the Reno-Tahoe Open without securing her card for next year. I used to think that she was being led in a wrong direction by her camp and now it is just plain arrogance. If you read between the lines when she said that she hasn't thought much about her future until after this tournament. Wie will skip Q-school and rely on tournament exemptions for next year, instead of earning her way. She and her camp are counting on that she is a draw at any tournament and I think that this will go away when people start to figure out how arrogant this mode of thinking is. Hopefully, the LPGA and tournament sponsors will not continue to grant invitations to someone who has been given everything and have her earn it.

I remember when the rankings came out about three years ago and Wie was ranked 3rd without winning a tournament, and now she is ranked 309. Wow! Keep making your decisions and you will decide yourself into a "where are they now" segment.
