Radulov to NHL: Stop robbing us

Alexander Radulov certainly sounds as if he has no regrets about bolting the Nashville Predators and creating an international incident by signing with Salvat Ufa of the Kontinental Hockey League despite having a valid NHL contract. Insisting he's broken no rules, Radulov has already played three exhibition games with his new club. The rising star painted himself as a patriot returning home, signalling a return to prominence for Russian hockey in a question-and-answer session this week with Russian reporters. "The NHL for 15 years has brought young players from Europe, first and foremost from Russia," according to a translation in Russianprospects.com. "I think that it is time to end this. Simply put: (It's) time to stop robbing us."

he was happy to take the nhl's cash!

**** you Radulov. Dont come crying when your league goes under and you want to make a few more million.

August 16, 2008  08:57 AM ET

Obviously, he is not a fan of country music.
BTW...Radulov, we have also robbed your county of its hottest strippers. Just so you know.

I say ban this guy for from the NHL for life and move on.

August 16, 2008  10:30 AM ET

this guys just a pain in the balls. let him walk who cares besides the preds who shouldnt want somebody on their team who doesnt wanna be there in the first place

Fear makes people do some funny things. The fact is Russia was the world's dominant hockey power for a long time. It's really only a matter of time until they're back on top of hockey world again.

August 16, 2008  11:04 AM ET

I'd like to get "robbed" with an NHL salary. Whiny, sniveling athletes- should I grab a tissue for you Radulov?

August 16, 2008  11:28 AM ET

He is right in every way. Malkin anyone and the KHL is not going to go broke. They have more money than the NHL.

August 16, 2008  11:56 AM ET

The Preds should get a compensation for wasting their draft pick on this little idiot. I hope someone will truly rob him soon.

August 16, 2008  12:04 PM ET

I didn't know if a player willing goes from Russia to the NHL to play that's the league "robbing" a country of talent. Sorta like how the Penguins "robbed" the Russians of Malkin. Wait, you mean he escaped the country in the middle of the night and didn't want to be there anymore?

August 16, 2008  02:00 PM ET

Go. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. You can take the Russian out of the cold....

August 16, 2008  02:04 PM ET

Obviously, he is not a fan of country music.
BTW...Radulov, we have also robbed your county of its hottest strippers. Just so you know.

Thats funny. Wait until they find out the Russian Mafia is still taking sixty percent

August 16, 2008  02:33 PM ET

Robbing the players? How's it "robbing" if they come here willingly? Seeking a better life-style and earning millions? Me thinks somebody told him to say that. Hopefully he likes playing in decrepit old buildings in front of 45 people. This guy should be banned for life. We should even send him a x-mas card every year after their league goes under.

August 16, 2008  02:55 PM ET

what does the russian mafia have to say about his?

August 16, 2008  05:35 PM ET

Being a Blackhawk fan and having endured the Mike Smith years I got to experience a fair few Russian players during that time - and considering the effort put in ( akin to punching a time clock)- I think it is debatable as to who was robbing whom.

Enjoy the toilet paper line Radulov ...

August 16, 2008  05:35 PM ET

If I see another Russky player drafted by an NHL club in my lifetime, it will be too soon! With a few exceptions, like Ovechkin and Datsiuk (a good Ukrainian boy unfortunately born in Moscow) I am sick of those sneaky, conniving, self absorbed, whining Russians!

I was going to say: the Russians can go to h*e*l*l but that would be redundant since they are living there already! A frozen h*e*l*l to be sure with that weasel Putin playing the role of Lucifer but, it is h*e*l*l nevertheless!

August 16, 2008  05:56 PM ET

I hear that weasel Putin wants to invade Canada next so he can get all the good Canadian players "transferred" to h*e*l*l's kitchen ..... I mean to Moscov!

August 16, 2008  08:30 PM ET

Radulov is a ****! You want to play in the best league in the world? Go to the NHL. Why do you think so many Japanese and Latin American players go to MLB. Money number 1 and playing the best of the best number 2. Same with the NBA. Radulov should ****!

August 16, 2008  09:04 PM ET

Get bent, Alex! Stay in Russia, we don't want you in the US. Last time I checked, making 3 or 4 mil a year doesn't constitute a "robbing". "Robbing" is what you are doing to the fans who are paying your salary by bailing on them.
