White Sox may call up Poreda

The White Sox are still considering whether to promote 2007 first-round pick Aaron Poreda from Double-A Birmingham to pitch Tuesday night against Seattle. Guillen said the Sox would wait until after Monday night's game before naming a starter. The Sox would have to remove someone from the 40-man roster or transfer injured pitcher Jose Contreras from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL if they promote Poreda. Clayton Richard remains the likely candidate.

Unless something really strange happens, Aaron Poreda will pitch and most familiar with the entire situation know it.

Is it just me or is Ozzies head getting fatter by the minute? He looks like a big frog.

August 18, 2008  10:03 AM ET

He looks like one of those carnival games where you toss the beanbag in the clowns mouth.

you actually found a picture of ozzie smiling?

wow

August 18, 2008  11:09 AM ET

"you actually found a picture of ozzie smiling?"

Those who actually follow the White Sox and not just what they read here will know that Ozzie is actually smiling about 95% of the time. That 95% doesn't sell papers, the other 5% does.

I was told the reason for all that smiling is gas, the same way a baby acts when it's gassy...............perhaps all this methane comes from a steady diet of elotes?

August 18, 2008  12:32 PM ET

He looks like a just ripped a huge one in the dugout....and he's quite pleased with himself.

August 18, 2008  12:42 PM ET

Maybe he became a vegetarian like Prince Fielder, and started gaining weight!

It's the elotes I tells ya! I can just see him saying this in the dugout when this picture was taken:

Ozzie: "aw mang who stepped on a duck? heh heh me!"

August 18, 2008  01:40 PM ET

ive known aaron since we were little kids. im hella excited to see him come up to the bigs.

August 18, 2008  01:45 PM ET

He is actually saying...

"I can't believe I have gotten away with saying and doing some of the stuff I have and still have this job. What a great country."

August 18, 2008  02:14 PM ET

In this photo Ozzie shows that you can have fun with **** discharge!

August 18, 2008  04:06 PM ET

Hey I think Ozzie is saying "insert random and in no way un-original fart joke here". Get it Ozzie has gas, ha! I am freaking hilarious!
---------------
Grossedout - gotta change your picture, I keep seeing it on different post and it is giving me the **** chills! Agreed about Contreras, love him but don't think we will see him again. Poreda can pitch, he throws mid 90's and has had average 1.3 K's an inning. The only question is maturity. It may take some games, but this kid should be a solid contributor.

Fart jokes are both classic and timeless. In fact, I had the same thought when I seen that photo. Maybe his honorary Indian name should be Farts Smell Like Buffalo ****.

That is some serious action photography... taking a picture right when Ozzie heard the news that Carl Pavano might pitch for the Yankees this weekend. We all had the same reaction, Ozzie old boy!...
