David Stremme, the driver for Rusty Wallace's Nationwide effort, appears to have the inside track to replace Ryan Newman in the #12 Dodge at Penske racing next season. While refusing to acknowledge that a decision has been made, all signs from within the organization point to an announcement within a matter of days, as soon as the details on sponsorship for the team have been finalized.

If Newman couldn't do anything with that inferior equipment, I don't have much more hope for Stremme either.

August 20, 2008  08:25 AM ET

Is this story meant to be new? Man, what qualifies for news these days?

August 20, 2008  08:53 AM ET

Stremme bounces from bad ride to bad ride. Penske is a little better than the crap he has been in but like shaf said if Newman couldn't do anything with it (besides get pole) then what will Stremme do with it besides sand down walls and bring out cautions.

Good Morning,
I want to personaly Denounce Floatman
for what he is,( a lier and a fraud )
this fellow asked 2 times to be added
to my friends list which I did,he sends
fanmail asking where I have been as of
late,( family problems ) then turns
around and slams me on th T & R
with the remarks below,,I'am setting
the record stright = I'am NOT
reporting anyone on here at all,I'am
Not a self professed Moderator,
anyone who truely Knows me, knows
I'll argue with you all day long, If
I know I'm right..Sorry to bother
you good people with this but
I had to speak my peace.
Thanks
I leveled with you about my personality and what i do a while back. When they swarm to their buddy's rescue next time read the initiatin argument and you will see the true origins. If i am at fault so be it, but if it is with the DR then I will guarantee you all the groupies will jump in and point the fingers at me. And to make this PERFECTLY clear, I NEVER once reported anyone. You know how I roll...I love confrontation so why would I want it to stop? (((SLY is the one who has reported EVERYONE because he thinks he is the board police and is asst. moderator))). Read back some and see what I mean....there are 3 people that consider this board theirs and everyone else is just a guest and therefor WRONG in any post they make.

Poor Stremme. At least he'll get a better paycheck!

August 20, 2008  09:21 AM ET

Good job Preacher, this will all wash out.

Nooooo, Stremme. Don't sell your soul to Satan for a ride. Stay with Rusty. At least he treats you with respect. Your talents will shrivel and die there. Noooo.

August 20, 2008  09:53 AM ET

I just don't see Stremme doing much. Top 15's are the best he can hope for.

August 20, 2008  09:57 AM ET

I agree with Rick...he isn't a top 10 driver by a longshot. Why don't the teams that aren't having success fold for a whoile, save the cash and comeback when they have a quality driver on the hook. I know sponsorship cash is a big lure but does it offset a consistantly bad showing.

That wasn't SLY 1 SVT, it was Bloatman under his "cloak". Dude has gone off the deep end on this craziness.

August 20, 2008  01:44 PM ET

Oh, Please Preacher- you will get caught.

August 20, 2008  02:14 PM ET

Ya can't get caught when you aren't doing anything Bloated One. I can't wait until this unravels and you are trying to appologize, because if ti is in fact not you and someone else you are going to feel really stupid....which fits perfectly.

August 20, 2008  02:33 PM ET

Stremme is a decent driver, he has 11 top 10's in 22 Nationwide starts this year. Dale Jr. has 12 top 10's in 23 Cup starts. Not bashing Jr. just saying.
It looks to me like maybe these posts will get back to a semblance of normalty now. It seems that the children have ended the craziness of the last month or so. Maybe they have gone back to kindergarten and don't have the time to talk back and forth on here. Hopefully it will return to Nascar topics.

August 20, 2008  02:40 PM ET

Flat, I come in and comment on NASCAR. Float comes in EVERY DAY and starts in with me. Read back....ya can't hide the print.

August 20, 2008  03:18 PM ET

So that is what this is all about, you got your feelings hurt!
You do real well dishing it out, but when your confronted, you act like you just got a spanking you didn't deserve.
Preacher, I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, and this time I promise not to pick on you anymore, In fact I'll pretend your not even here!
I hope you feel better now.

August 20, 2008  05:25 PM ET

Floatman back on the right schedule again are you?

August 20, 2008  05:28 PM ET

Who said anything about feelings Bloatman...you are off your rocker. Please, take your meds now and put down the key board.

August 21, 2008  06:32 AM ET

With sponsorships down this year, and the coming year too, it's going to get tight for "full rides" in the coming year unless your a proven winner, and a fan favorite.
