Ricky Williams, atop the depth chart at running back, said he would be content coming off the bench this season, but Ronnie Brown admitted he would be disappointed if he does not start. ''It might be a flaw I have,'' Williams said, ''but I have no desire to compete with Ronnie.''

That's exactly where you are on my fantasy team.........on the bench!

August 20, 2008  08:52 AM ET

I'm sure you not playing him in FANTASY football will really hurt his ego.

August 20, 2008  09:00 AM ET

its not a flaw, its apathy. go figure where you got that from...

August 20, 2008  09:36 AM ET

think he would have fit right in here in cincy, i dont care, just puff puff pass homie!

August 20, 2008  09:59 AM ET

Ronnie will never be the back that Ricky is I miss Ricky come back to the N.O.

August 20, 2008  10:24 AM ET

what kinda pro would be comfortable coming off the bench?? cmon ricky...

Ricky has no desire to "carry" a franchise anymore. He did it once before with the Dolphins and they literally ran him into the ground with having the most carries of any RB in a two-three year period. That, essentially, killed his love for the game. He knows he will step up and be the stand in when they need him, but he knows this is Ronnie Brown's team. He is also noted to have become good friends & a mentor to Brown. By stating he has no desire to compete with Brown he's sending a huge message: he is not out to take Brown's spot, his time as an "elite" back is gone while Brown is the "now" & he greatly respects him as a friend & teammate.

ronnie brown is not an elite back...espcially when he's being outplayed by rick the ruler...brown is soft..always has been...i'd take ricky over him everytime..weed and all

Got a feeling this will be a breakout year for RW........again! That's why I drafted him at little risk! If he doesn't pan out there are still enough mediocre RB's to choose from. As for Ronnie Brown, he has a lot to prove before he's considered a starter again in my books!

August 20, 2008  11:09 AM ET

POT will be an issue as soon as the stress level rises. He has proven it three times before.

Now that I can agree with... Ricky Williams has always been a beast. It's unfortunate that he got hurt last year in his first game on what, his second carry? He'll be back to form no doubt, and as a Bills fan I'll want to kill him (not literally)... but I'll likely have him myself on my fantasy team.

News flash to all those in fan nation --- It doesn't matter who starts as RB in Miami. The Dolphins have no quality receivers, so both Brown & Williams will get plenty carries this season.

Yeah, WR is the only position that was untouchable when Miami raped and pillaged our village for players and coaches! Oh, check that, if TE counts they did get a good one (Fasano) from us!

I don't know why everyone's down on Ronnie...the guy led the league in rushing before his injury last year.

There are going to be a lot of disappointed football fans when Miami fail to live up to its whipping boy status of last year.
If you saw them play the Jags...you'd know why. They may only win 5 games....but they will not be dead last...I'm going to give that one to St. Louis....looking scary over there.

Ricky is starting to go through his "what if " scenario !!! - "If I'm HIGH or HUNG OVER HIGH I'll come off the bench - I'm a team player" !!!

August 20, 2008  06:45 PM ET

To say Ronnie Brown is "soft" is just ridiculous. Watch the highlights from last year. He was leading the league in yards from scrimmage before he got hurt and that was with a horrendous O-Line. It takes time to come back from the injury he had. But he is anything but soft.
