The Suns could pursue an affordable free agent such as Orlando Magic swingman Grant Hill to make up for that sort of dynamic in a Shawn Marion deal.

As long as he can come off the bench with Barbosa and Diaw, fine. I wouldn't trust him with starter minutes the way Phx plays. Although, Nash would love to play with Hill allowing Nash to play off the ball a little bit.

I echo that K11............only if he can come off bench

June 12, 2007  11:35 AM ET

hill is old and is always injured

June 12, 2007  12:01 PM ET

thats a good pick up for the Suns ...they need a better coach like Pop ..rest those veterans in regular season and play them big when it comes to playoff

June 12, 2007  02:02 PM ET

That would be a horrible trade...not sure that Hill could pick up where Marion exels, scoring without the playcall, getting boards, etc

June 12, 2007  02:10 PM ET

It's not a trade. Grant will come in the form of low cost free agent. He will most certainly come off the bench and hopefully produce better than Jalen Rose - Our last cheap veteran free agent aquisition.

June 12, 2007  02:54 PM ET

Grant is a much more complete player than Jalen Rose, and COULD provide anything the Suns are lacking. He's just that complete, if anyone remembers the heydays in Detroit or Duke you know what I mean. I am concerned as to how many minutes he would be able to play. He's older, and has terrible ankles and aging knees. Running up and down the floor at 110 miles per hour isn't going to help that at all.

June 12, 2007  05:53 PM ET

oh my bad I was mixed up

June 12, 2007  07:29 PM ET

The only reason Jalen didn't play was because he was really slow and probably slower than Thomas. And even though he was a good shooter, he couldn't play fast. Here on the other hand if we get a top pick for Marion we will probably draft Brewer and Hill and Brewer will probably get equal amount of time, knowing of hill's injuries.

June 12, 2007  11:41 PM ET

Marion cant be replaced, but Grant Hill would be a great pick-up to come off the bench for 20-25 mins.

June 13, 2007  02:11 AM ET

I'd say pass on Grant. You need youth on the bench to learn from the starting veterans. For Kerr, please don't make the Suns another version of the Spurs. Who can watch a win with 70 points? It may be fun for the team, but not the fans. It's like going to a baseball game and a no-hitter is on the line. That's great pitching, but boring for the fans. Keep the up tempo game as long as you have Nash, but draft some Bigs in the up-coming draft, so when the shots are not falling you can get some offensive boards, and when you face a low-post player like Duncan. Also, Nash and Stat have not had 2 secutive years together. So, barring any major injuries and a good draft the Suns should be at again this time around next year.

June 13, 2007  03:30 PM ET

Hill would be a good addition if he's healthy, especially as an insurance policy should Marion be sent elsewhere.

June 13, 2007  10:34 PM ET

They would only want Hill to keep another team from signing him. He would just waste away on the bench like Jalen Rose and never see floor time. He should sign with the Lakers where he will be a starter.

June 14, 2007  12:26 PM ET

Jalen Rose was an overrated and aging talent. Hill brings versatility and a mulit-faceted approach to the SF position. He'd surely be used, especially if they were going to play a bigger lineup with Hill as the shooting guard.

Hill has made it clear he wants a chance to win. The Lakers will not give him that chance.
