Ray Allen and longtime girlfriend Shannon Walker Williams finally made it official, tying the knot in an intimate ceremony on Martha's Vineyard over the weekend. Guests at the wedding, which was held under sunny skies at a private home in Oak Bluffs, included the couple's three children Tierra, Ray III, and Walker, fellow UConn alums Scott Burrell and 76er Kevin Ollie, Celts CEO Wyc Grousbeck and wife Corinne, and, of course, the NBA Championship trophy. Allen's friend Brian McKnight sang "Never Felt This Way" as the basketball star and his bride made their entrance. Later, McKnight wowed the crowd with renditions of his hits "Crazy Love" and "Back at One."

What? How disgusting! An NBA player who actually married the mother of his children?!?!? Won't he get kicked out of the union for that?

August 21, 2008  06:48 AM ET

Darn, I missed it1 Where was my invite Ray?

August 21, 2008  06:56 AM ET

He brought the NBA Championship trophy to the wedding ?!
Sheesh.
What's he trying to do - show off to the guests? Wouldn't everyone there already know him as a pro basketball player who recently won a title?
Not a good move. The focus of the wedding should be on the bride and groom as human beings and not on trophies.
I'm sure Tony Parker didn't lug the NBA trophy to his wedding when he married Eva Longoria, and I'm sure other players who've won titles didn't do that either.

This is like Shaq all over again. I'm not sure but I believe Shaq got married after the first championship w/ the Lakers or maybe the 2nd one.

I'm with JL on this one! Why bring the championship trophy to your wedding? We all know the way you choked for three rounds in the playoffs it's a wonder you got the trophy. Enjoy while you can.

Ray Allen is a biotch. I can't believe somebody would marry his sorry ****.

August 21, 2008  10:15 AM ET

NBA trophy at the wedding = some of the tackiest crap I've ever heard of.

August 21, 2008  11:13 AM ET

It's nice they invited their three children. But it sets a better example of responsibility and family values when you marry prior to conceiving rug rats.

Just saying.

I don't believe he brought the trophy to the wedding. It isn't in any of the pictures and players don't get the trophy, they get their rings. The organization get the trophy. I can't imagine the Celtics letting him "borrow" it for his wedding.

I think the writer just threw this in for affect.

I agree.

Sounds like he had a joyous day with family and close friends.

He and his bride married on the beach with the sand between their toes (literally - if you look closey at the pictures).

Good for him.

good news.

Good for him, I can't believe people have bad things to say about this. There are some skeptics who will never change.
