Why Boldin won't land in Philly

Here are the most important things you need to know about the Eagles' possible efforts to make a deal for Anquan Boldin: The Cardinals are not interested in trading him, and they are not interested in acquiring equally unhappy cornerback Lito Sheppard. It is the same story that unfolded with Fitzgerald. The only way for the Eagles to change the outcome is to make the Cardinals an offer so sweet - a No. 1 draft pick in 2009 and a player other than Sheppard? - they could not refuse. Andy Reid's message to Eagles fans after revealing Kevin Curtis' injury: All is well. Remain calm. The world is not ending.

"Why Boldin won't land in Philly", you beside that they do not have a fit for a trade? Or that right now the salaries are not matching? Or because....wait why Philly? there are other teams in bigger need than Philly for Boldin.

Iron your right. But if there not making the effort to trade or sign for him..they dont deserve him. The Eagles are doing what every single NFL team should be. Doing any and everything in there power and budget to win a super bowl. You can not deny that. I think Boldin would be a good addition to the Eagle team personally.

"Nobody wants to trade for an 'unhappy' Rosenhaus client"

Timing, Location, Spoiled brat receiver, and Money. Bench his .... for not living up to his contract, and take his money each game he doesn't play.

I also feel the Eagles are working toward getting back to the Super Bowl. I just do not see a fit for this trade. Maybe they pick up Horn or do some other deal. I feel as they are now set up, the Eages go 11-5 and make the playoffs.

Just my take.

"Maybe they pick up Horn or do some other deal."

Horn probably doesn't have much left in the tank BUT his best chance for a solid season or two, would be going to a team with a real qb and a desire to win. Philly might be the perfect fit for Horn.

4 million a year isnt enough for this guy. How much money do you want. Im here in Iraq serving our country for the third time and i may not see a million dollars in 20 years. The leage should start somthing to people who say they will hold out such as cut them and make it to where no one can sign them for 2 years. Its your contract honor it.

Why would anyone want to live/play in Philly. It smells like a NY subway bathroom and the fans are the worst fans in the world.

Not to mention the corrupt police and politicians.

Dude. That's not the city. Wash your upper lip and that scent will go away. I swear.

August 21, 2008  07:10 AM ET

Just give up the first round pick, it's not like you've used them in the past two drafts anyway. Have some guts and make the offer as soon as possible.

August 21, 2008  07:13 AM ET

Should have played out his contract and then talked big money.. now he will be labeled no matter where he goes.

August 21, 2008  07:17 AM ET

I honestly don't want to see him go to pHilly but if I were Philly I would go get this guy, Donavan needs a big time receiver to throw to and all of their receivers are banged up.

People Like Boldin are cry babies. Its the NFL. Every year it is someone new demanding a trade because they dont make enough money. People like this really effech the whole game and I dont mean in a positvie way while they play. They are the reason why people have to pay so much to see them. I went to buy tickets while i was home last year and there was no way i was going to Sit up in the Nose Bleed section just to go. Accept your contract if you have outplayed it you have outplayed it. Good job. Work on your next contract. Dont be a baby Like TO, and cry your way out of a trade. Oh yeah speaking of that ELI sucks!!!!

sootobeaway-let me guess you are a cowboys fan. Still not sure where Eli fits in this discussion or thread but I guess when you get a ring you get more hate. Go Giants.

Perfect fit for the TITANS; trade a 1st round pick for him

August 21, 2008  08:14 AM ET

The guy is a two time pro bowler at the top of his game. One first round pic is not enough and throw ins like Lito ( another guy who wants a reo contract ) does not help the cap strapped Cards...He stays and he plays for the Cards , or someone is going to throw a lot of pics at the Cards to get him..

Ah defintly not a Dallas fan, GO Skins. He cried his way out of the Chargers by refusing to play there and that is how i brought him up in this. Another professional cry baby
