Patriots: Brady's return day-to-day

After missing Sunday night's exhibition game at Tampa Bay and two practices because of a sore right foot, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady rejoined his teammates for at least part of yesterday's full-pads workout at Gillette Stadium. Brady was present and accounted for during the 15-minute media access portion, taking part in stretching, some light throwing, and handoffs. Unlike the week of the Super Bowl, when pictures showed Brady's injured right ankle heavily wrapped, there was no such visible cushioning on his foot. He did not appear limited in his movements. Brady's presence does not ensure he will play tomorrow night against the Eagles. Asked if there was an update on Brady before practice, Bill Belichick said he was day to day, which has been the coach's standard response regarding injured players. The right foot is important for a righthanded quarterback like Brady because it's the foot used at the end of the dropback to push off and accelerate forward.

Are we supposed to care about the runner up QB from last season?

August 21, 2008  08:42 AM ET

Brady's foot ... Favre's breakfast ... anybody on the Bengals being arrested ... *sigh*

August 21, 2008  08:45 AM ET

Let him rest... it's going to be a long season again... to go 16-0 twice in a row he will need his rest

I feel deprived when there are no Favre stories... how will we know what he had to eat last night or what he watched on TV... these are important things a fan needs to know...

I heard Favre took a dump this morning but right now that can't be confirmed because the guy in the toilet got $hyte in his glasses and couldn't positively identify if it was Brett's arsehole or just one of the regular JETS arseholes.... they all look alike.

Oh no, does this mean that Brady has been banned from Mt. Olympus?

August 21, 2008  08:54 AM ET

Tom better get healthy, that defense isn't going to win them any games.

Did he hurt his foot knocking up another broad?............is he trying to catchup to Holyfield, Kemp, McFadden, etc.....

August 21, 2008  09:47 AM ET

Geez, minute by minute updates on Brady. How's his temp? Is he running a fever? I say its all made up, so they can rest him. Just like they did with Moss last year. So, who cares!

August 21, 2008  09:50 AM ET

He's done. Career-ending foot surgery is next.

August 21, 2008  09:59 AM ET

"Are we supposed to care about the runner up QB from last season?"

Sure. Without the minor injury, Brady is more mobile and gets the extra second here and there to CRUSH that Giants secondary.

Favre does like that kind of potty talk. He used to compare the donuts Green Bay staffers brought to the meetings to "turds" and a sidleine camera caught him talking about farts during a game.

August 21, 2008  10:04 AM ET

This is just in from our corespondent in Brady's arsehole, Chit Storm:

"Brady's other foot (left foot) is jealous and has refused to show up to training camp. Representatives of the left foot refused to talk to Brady and the Pats pending a law suit against Brady's brain and testies. Belichick on the other hand, has displayed some concern regarding the left foot holdout and refused to take the foot amputation option off the table."

Back to you fatty!

No Biggie!! Brady's so good that if the injury is still an issue opening day, he'll just throw left handed.

im sorry man but brady showed us all that he is very average when he gets pressure...he doesnt like to be hit..and he recoils once the d=line gets to him...just like troy aikman before him..its all about the line...the pats have a terrible line this year and you will see tom brady looking very average from now on...he will continue to get hurt because he's soft...he is not joe montana...and dont forget..he has never thrown a game winning TD pass in a SB...without a kicker kicking 50 yrd FG's in snow storms he would be just another guy with stats...its very simple...bring pressure..lots of pressure..and hit him whether or not he completes the pass..hit him everytime you can ..you do that and he wont be around at the end of the game..

For your information, Tom Brady only has one child, count 'em, one.
Next time, go bray about something you DO know, not something you only THINK you know.

Where's the fun in that? If I can't bray, I have nothing to say.

What QB likes to get hit? I think Mike Tyson said it best "Everybody's got plans... until they get hit." The team still won 18 games last year. I don't like the Pats, but I respect talent when it's there.
