Wimmer not in RCR's plans

Scott Wimmer, who combined with Jeff Burton to give Richard Childress Racing the 2007 Nationwide Series owners' title, isn't part of the team's plans for '09, he said Thursday. Despite his status as a part-timer, the 32-year-old from Wausau [Wisconsin] has won as many races as the rest of the Chidress drivers so far this season - one - but his chances presumably were hurt by his inability to take a checkered flag last year in a car with which Burton won five times. Wimmer was a candidate for Childress' fourth Sprint Cup team but wasn't the choice of sponsors.

This is a good thing. He is an average driver that for some reason gets good press. To be honest, I don't think there is alot of talent to pull from in the Busch series. Could be the reason owners have been looking to the other series (Indy, F-1, Go-Carts) to find drivers to roll the dice on.

Wondering if there isn't a lot of talent in Nationwide Series because they aren't developing a lot of talent these days. Most of the time guys are lucky to get a year of NW before jumping to Sprint. Guys like Cassil and Keslowski are only getting time because Hendrick is full on the Sprint side.

The sad part is some of these guys aren't ready for Cup (see: Allmendinger or McDowell). They bomb against the big boys and it wrecks their confidence and sponsor's confidence.

On the Kyle Busch post you said that all the Toyos should blow up.
I will have to check to see what kind of car Mr. Vickers and Mr. Allmendinger are sitting in. Just saying, LOL
