Bucks center Andrew Bogut underwent a magnetic resonance imaging exam after turning his left ankle Wednesday in Australia's quarterfinal loss to the U.S. in the Olympic Games, and the results were encouraging. "The initial tests show no tear or break of anything," said David Bauman, Bogut's agent, when reached by phone today. "It looks like it's a bad sprain, and he will probably need a couple weeks of rest, recuperation and rehab.

Well, that's "comforting" to know. Chances are he will never be a great player anyway.

So since there is nothing in the news at all we get to hear about this bum who plays for the bucks, and they try to fancy it up actually calling an MRI by its full name...

August 22, 2008  08:18 AM ET

haha... damn good point Devo... what I was thinking exactly

August 22, 2008  08:18 AM ET

now can the MRI locate his game? Those inital test reveal it to have been a sham, and are putting him on a donors list for a post game.

August 22, 2008  08:20 AM ET

Looks to me like he's "carrying" the ball, and not dribbling it. That's a turn over. NBA is more backyard playground crap than real basketball these days.

An ankle sprain is bad especially his own because he had that problem before the Olympics. Ankles become weaker if you don't allow it to heal for a long period of time. Weaker ankles get easier to sprain and might become chronic. Once you keep getting ankle injuries then your mentality becomes weaker, meaning you become scared everytime you step on the court knowing you might get sprain again.

Guam.....
EVERYONE in the NBA has chronic ankle sprains......
everyone gets taped up.
no ones ever had an ankle sprain that's derailed a career......

I don't know why everyone hates this guy, he is a really rebounder, solid blocker and a good passer.

lol

I actually saw bogut play in college in Utah, Good Guy ,good player, he wont be a star but he is solid.

August 22, 2008  02:11 PM ET

damn he isnt hurt probably in the next game he will have happened to have "accidentily" stepped on a team mates shoe and hurt his ankle

August 22, 2008  04:58 PM ET

No tear, no break? Pretty soon he'll be as slow as ever. Isn't "Bogat" really Big Country Reeves with a better haircut?

August 22, 2008  05:45 PM ET

this guy has pulled bogus injuries his whole career, its a load of crap he was out of his depth and didnt want to be further embarrassed

this guy is a crybaby

anyone been watching lauren jackson - thats commitment for your country not a WIMP like andrew bogan - this guy makes me sick

August 22, 2008  09:56 PM ET

And now there playoff contenders.......................with less defense

August 23, 2008  01:16 AM ET

brilliant basketball analysts like winkstrap, devo and shogun are what make the internet so worthwhile.

gee, really - bogut's not as good as kobe... must be a pile of crap, then. faking his injury yadda yadda...

calling out bogut as an example of playground basketball run rampant in the nba is just ridiculous. oh wait - you're right - he's been breaking ankles at Rucker's Park for years. playground legend.

I thought snipers were ACCURATE.

Man the IQ of the majority of ppl who post on this thing is stuck in single digits., and those that aren't sound like whining 12 yr olds. Gotta love the constant hostility. No wonder the rest of the world despise us and love to see us lose. Ugly Americans ftw.

As a Buck's supporter this is awesome news. Based on stats alone he's already the 2nd best centre in the East. He's a quality guy and I wouldn't swap him for anyone.

August 23, 2008  05:38 PM ET

who cares about andrew "I'm scrub talking smack about American players"Bougt? In the words of Dave Chappelle "How's it Taste Mother##### after the Americans beat that SSA?"

August 24, 2008  08:06 AM ET

Good to hear Bogut's injury was mild, not serious. I had mentioned in the earlier article that it was likely not a big deal.
Jgb got it right when he said that ankle sprains are common and relatively easy to overcome.
