UK recruit has Georgia on his mind

Alexander offensive lineman Kevin Mitchell said he still intends to sign with Kentucky. Except if Mark Richt calls. "The only thing that would change my mind [about Kentucky] is if Georgia offered me," said Mitchell. "But I know that's not going to happen because they already are loaded with offensive linemen." The 6-foot-7, 295-pound Mitchell is a member of the AJC's The Georgia 150 and also has offers from Indiana, Louisville, and Oregon.

Sounds to me like there are a lot of ???? and ???? and ???? to be answered before that happens!!!!!

AJC sucks

Good problem to have. If the kid really loves Georgia he would end up on scholarship. He might have to wait a year, but every year Richt gives a couple scholarships to walk-ons when other guys mess up or transfer.

If if's and buts were candy and nuts...

Isn't 6-foot-7 kind of tall for a O-Lineman? Heck the QB would not see over him to see down field. Seems like he would have to do a lot of scarmbles.

I hope he sticks with UK... They need his help. UGA is a great school but like he said they are stacked. UK is putting something together and I hope it works for them.

Kid wants to be play for a winner (Mr. Richt and staff). Can hardly blame him. Would be hard for Aaron Murray to throw behind him, but 6'7" is hardly rare anymore. In another 20 years the Olines are gonna be like 7'0" 350! The kids just get bigger and bigger.

If he is that big and really good, he will be knocking his man out of the way on most plays anyway, not locking up in front of Stafford. He must not be that impressive, or he would have an offer in the can by now. I'm just sayin'.

UK has come a loooong way...hope it works out for them and this kid...gotta love when teams start becoming competitive making an already tough conference that much tougher....

Earth to Richt: Get this guy to walk on. What's tuition in the Peach state? Get his parents to take out a loan. If he's any good after a year, put him on scholarship.

Earth to Kevin Mitchel: Everyone is loaded at O-Line. The two deep roster is... let me check my math... carry the one... 10 people! Add a few more competant individuals, and you're gonna have to battle for playing time!

Go somewhere with a chance for a Nat'l Title, if you're any good!
