Bears work Jones in at RB

While Kevin Jones entered training camp with visions of winning the starting running back job, he doesn't see Matt Forte on the bench. That's not a problem for him because he's happy to be in good position for a roster spot and envisions a role in a two-headed backfield. Jones played in the preseason for the first time Thursday against the San Francisco 49ers and had 30 yards on three carries. He was on the field for five plays. He has passed every test in returning from surgery to repair his anterior cruciate ligament, and the plan was to keep him if he was healthy.

Barry Sanders would have trouble running behind that line.

yep.

That good to hear, someone be able to average 10 yards a carry behind the worst O-line in the league.

Quick Jerry Angelo .... TRADE him away ...

And then draft ANOTHER bust in the first round to replace him!

Seriously though ... I feel sorry for poor Bears fans who thought Angelo was so great when the team went to the Super Bowl. All the "Where's that firejerryangelo website NOW?" talk.

Funny how a vast majority now agree with me that he had no business being ANYBODY'S General Manager - especially since it was the McKays and Dungy that were the ones responsible for building up the Bucs while Angelo was there.

But I guess they got what they wished for - a long contract extension for the guy.

That's what happens when you have owners like the McCaskeys who put their kid Michael in charge of the team, then decide that (unlike every other team that's actually successful) they don't need a GM at all, then let a tax accountant (Ted Philips) run the team for years, then decided they wanted a first-time GM in Angelo because he (like all personnel first-timers) came cheap.

Yep. The same owners who gave "All the Pieces are in Place" Wannstedt a contract extension ... after an incredibly mediocre 7-9 season.

The same owners who hired the cheap-to-hire, first-timer Dick Juaron. You might remember him as the guy who said "let's develop Cade McNoun by playing him every third series!" and the guy who uncovered the offensive guru that was John Schoop.

Of course this was only after NOT being able to hire Dave McGinnis of the spectacular Arizona Cardinals!

The McKaskeys need to sell that team if Bears fans want to win some Super Bowls!

It all starts at the top.

If he keeps quiet and plays his role he will definitely get a good number of rushing yards this season. Forte is young and inexperienced and the Bears are weak at passing so they will run the ball more than most teams.

wow BlackGold. I couldn't have said much better than that, awesome comment. Dead on too...

The Forte-Jones-Orton 3-headed Medusa backfield for the Bears is going to be the lowest scoring in the NFL.

Our o-line looks way better with Orton under center because he actully gets rid of the ball instead of running scared for a thirteen yard loss. (a play we call the Grossman)

I think the Bears offense will be better than a lot of people think. Getting rid of Benson and Rex is addition by subtraction, Beekman was solid at guard, and both RBs looked pretty good. If the Bears can establish the run, which looks promising, we'll be in good shape.

All you **** who are gonna try to rip me for this can check back around week 8 and s.u.c.k. it!
