Drew destined for DL list?

J.D. Drew missed his sixth consecutive game due to lower back stiffness yesterday and may have left the Red Sox with no other option than to place him on the 15-day disabled list, backdated to last Monday, if he is unable to play tomorrow in the team's last regular-season visit to Yankee Stadium. Drew, who hasn't played since Aug. 17, would be eligible for activation Sept. 2 if the club decides to go that route.

Damn shame, Drew has really been playing well this year. The injuries are starting to pile up for the Sox. It's going to be tough to make the playoffs without Lowell and Drew. Add Beckett to the list of walking wounded and now they've got serious problems.
At least the Yankees still stink!

this isnt good considering everyone is already hurting Beckett is numb on his right side but they have no idea why the sox are really gonna need young guys to step up and help out

And, just as important, Tony Larussa's mood has apparently improved by Bruce Springsteen, so we're starting out the week with a bang!
You go Fannation!

Hang in there, joe......that Red Sox icon has to be tough to deal with....

Who would have guessed Drew would have landed on the DL again??? Now you know why they tried to claim another outfielder off the waiver wire!!! Drew has spent most of his career on the DL. He is a good player when healthy but that has not happened for a whole year in his career... GO SOX!!!!

Exactly! This has been Drew's history..... he protects his health so he can keep raking the dough..... if that means missing two weeks during a pennant race with a hangnail, he'll do it.... BTW: he got called out for this publicly when he was with Atlanta..... he got shamed into playing every day after a series of missed games with questionable ailments (and I know the Cardinals were happy to be rid of him because of this)..... At this point in the season, nobody's 100 pct..... Man Up Drew!

Somehow I am going to squeeze a few more posts out of this day so i can honestly say I fulfilled my committment. :))))) meantime if anyone cares to spend an hour or two reading, I have a blog of epic proportions just newly posted yesterday. You can get a cuppa joe and a pillow and relax whilst perusing the blog. :))))))

Last week was rough. Tropical storm Fay came through and stayed for three days dumping rain and leaving floods. My house was okay but several in the area weren't so lucky. The flooding is widespread. a tornado also hit about five miles from my house on Tuesday and destroyed 51 homes. I was going to give you an update last Wednesday but I lost power. The city was closed down for three days last week. Everything is back to normal now.
