Vandy won't name starting QB

It'll be one of the first questions asked of Vanderbilt Coach Bobby Johnson at his press conference today: "Are you ready to announce who your starting quarterback will be?" It won't be the first time the question has been posed to Johnson this month -- and in all likelihood, it won't be the last. Johnson has shown no intention of ending the competition between Chris Nickson, Mackenzi Adams, and to a lesser degree, Jared Funk and Larry Smith for the starting nod for Thursday's season opener at Miami (Ohio). "Why?" Johnson countered when asked late last week when or if he would dub one of the four as the Commodore starter in advance of Thursday's game.

Does it really matter? It's Vandy, meaning whoever starts is probably going to win about 1 game all season.

They are going to determine it based on the coin toss

Wouldn't surprise me if Miami (OH) wins this game regardless of who the QB is

Same ol' railbirds as usual ... Give the 'Dores some breathin' room, squalkers. They haven't even hit the field yet - and Miami (ohio) ain't no sloutch. Recall last year's Michigan-AppSt fiasco for Mich! These 2A schools are puttin' out some players that would play in most conferences except for various reasons the recruit opts to go to a school that's not 1A. The 'Dores need to win these, of course, but if not, they still should have our support ... Go 'Dores '08!!

Miami of Ohio is a 1A school, Hoboso. They play in the MAC. Ben Roethlisberger went there.

And no, it doesn't matter who Vandy starts. They'll still finish up last in the SEC.

I actually think Kentucky will finish last in the SEC with Vandy second to last.
