Meszaros' agent optimistic of deal

Andrej Meszaros is at home in Slovakia preparing for the start of Senators training next month. But he's not sure which side of the Atlantic Ocean he's going to be on come mid-September. While the 22-year-old blueliner fully intends to sign a deal with Ottawa and report for duty on Sept. 16 for medicals at Scotiabank Place, the two sides still have a bridge to gap in contract negotiations to ensure that Meszaros is going to be at training camp. Though the collective bargaining agreement doesn't stop a player from going to camp without a contract, there are insurance issues -- but that's not a decision Meszaros would have to make until just before players are required to report next month.

You don't want this guy Ottawa, send him to the Pens. Any guy that can play the next game after getting hit in the face with a slap shot is okay in my book.

This guy is real good. I like his game. The Sens should try and get him signed ASAP. I agree with Lets Go Pens, you dont want him send him here.

Obviously he has shown too much toughness to be a lock in Ottawa...silly lad. He should have known better.

The new edition of the Pens could use some toughness. They went from Sandpaper to emery board in the off season.

At least Andrej Meszaros isn't Russian, so there is hope of reaching an agreement!

Hey Baun-ded, we may not be as tough as last year, but we do have Satan so if we can't beat you up, we'll steal your soul.

Yeah! That's right! And .... you won't have to wait till h*e*l*l freezes over either because this Satan is already on ice .... and .... he wears a pair of skates!

Ottawa? The only reason to go to Ottawa is to ruin an otherwise promising career by getting your nose covered in powder. You'd be better off in Pitt or NJ, kid.

Meszaros to the Bruins for Schaefer.

A better deal would be Meszaroos to the Red Wings for a bag of toenail clippings and a carton of milk.

Lol...wtnelson...It's true. Ottawa used to be known as a stodgy government town...Now that's to Wade Redden, it's known as Miami-North. The Vice Squad has had to shut down the Rideau Canal twice this past season because the Columbians were taking over the turf.

thanks* to Wade

It was Volchencov that got the puck in the face. Maybe you should watch the game instead of playing with your toys.

My bad...hey that was a while ago and it was 8 am.
