ASU QB: LSU louder than Michigan
Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards said that playing at LSU Saturday will not be the same as playing at Michigan last season, where the Mountaineers upset the Wolverines. "We've got a couple of players who played there as freshmen or sophomores," he said on a morning conference call, referring to the Tigers' 24-0 victory in 2005. "They told us it'd be a lot louder than Michigan. We're working on going on the silent (snap) count and not getting confused by the fans. "The whole world is going to be watching us. They told me about the atmosphere and what to expect.' The Mountaineers also know that unlike Michigan, LSU will be ready for their spread offense, which opens up the field.

It's a known fact that Michigan is quiet for it's size because all of the noise goes straight up. It's a giant bowl with no decks.

Whoa, I thought you said "no d!cks," which...well...would also have been accurate.

Common knowledge. It will be interesting if the new addition affects it at all though.

C;mon 4vrRoyal, you seriously think App St is going to beat LSU? I know you wish that it would happen just to make you feel better about your loss to us, but LSU is NOT Michigan.

Although many people see it as a long shot, Appalachian State is in a great position to pull of an upset. LSU has no proven QB and returns only 5 starters to their defense. If Armanti Edwards can stay calm, LSU might just tumble down the rankings.

If App St. pulled it off again, I think this one would be more of an upset... Obviously it would be a bit less shocking, but they would be knocking off a national champion who had the luxury of watching App St. beat Michigan, so LSU won't be assuming a mop up game.
I still can't believe how differently the year would have been for Michigan if they had a decent field goal kicker in the first half of the season...

4vrRoyal is stirring the pot again. Either that or smoking it. LSU rolls 41-13.

I don't think even 4vr would predict that LSU would over dead and lose by that much...

At least you have given a reason why it COULD happen, DO_WORK_SON.
LSU returns with an unproven QB this year, but still has a very solid run game to lean on, a very good TE to dump the ball to and despite returning only 5 starters, will still be a very good defense. Someone always steps up to the plate when it is needed. Flynn was not a household name, nor was Mauk when he won a National Championship.
Could it happen? Yes. But LSU will not be looking past App St because they know what is riding on the line.

Tiger Stadium is the home field of Louisiana State University American football team. With a seating capacity of 92,400, it is the seventh largest on-campus college football stadium in the nation and third largest stadium in the SEC after Tennessee's Neyland Stadium and Georgia's Sanford Stadium. In terms of general population, Tiger Stadium would be the sixth-largest city in Louisiana for the seven home games each year. Tiger Stadium is generally considered one of the loudest and most electrifying college football atmospheres in the country.[1]

Tiger Stadium is commonly referred to as "Death Valley," due to its high level of cheering during games. The original nickname of "deaf valley" was applied to the stadium (distinguishing it from Clemson University's Memorial Stadium), but over the years was misunderstood for "death valley". During a nationally televised game against Auburn in 2003, ESPN recorded a noise level of 119 decibels at certain points in the game. During the October 6, 2007 game against the University of Florida, CBS recorded 129.8 decibels.

Its purely because of the shape of the stadium. Michigan is a large, single-tier bowl, so all sounds escapes straight up, instead of bouncing off multiple stories or high walls. If michigan stadium was a dome... that place would be deafening...

Its purley because you stick 90,000 drunken, plastered, redneck, and **** as2es thats been tailgating all day in one stadium that has decks will equal havoc. You stick 100,000 city boys in their bowl stadium you have nothing that compares to the real Death Valley. Plus do not talk about the SEC until your team can beat a SEC team you bunch of chokers.
