Why Strahan rejected Giants
There will be no No. 92 II, the sequel. One was enough for Michael Strahan. Or, really, 15 were enough, as in the years he spent as the Giants' defensive end before retiring this spring, contemplating the team's request for a comeback this week, and making his decision to stay retired Tuesday night. Strahan considered his comeback while vacationing in Greece. His agent, Tony Agnone, said he and Strahan had a long discussion Tuesday morning. He said the more they spoke, the less likely a Strahan comeback became. Though at first Strahan talked about "helping my comrades in arms," Agnone said, he started to realize that the adrenaline rush of those first few weeks would wear off. Money was never a piece of Strahan's decision, Agnone said, but the reality is that Agnone and the Giants did start to bat around a few numbers and found they were in the ballpark on a price tag to rouse the Hall of Famer from his Mediterranean beach chair and offer him a Grecian Earn. It was probably a little higher than the $6.5 million the Giants had offered Strahan before he announced his retirement.

He played at a high level for a long time and got out on top. He was one of those guys that always looked like he enjoyed what he was doing. Good for him..You have to respect a guy who turns down $6 plus million. Anyone who could not like a guy like Strahan has some real issues...

He retired with his health and a Super Bowl ring... he has the beginnings of a career in broadcasting... it seems like he's making all the smart moves right now.

If I were Michael I'd stay retired too. He went out on top why ruin it, since the odds of repeating as superbowl champs is like 10% or less.

There would only be one reason, and it's not to add another SB ring to his fingers. Can anyone say "Moulah" $$$?

i personally LOVE Michael, and i can't wait to see him on FOX. he will be graet, since retired football make the best PBP guys. i am glad he isn't going to come back to the G-MEN.. player do this all the time and what happens THEY GET HURT... and usually something they are going to pay for the rest of thier lives.. he has his health, and a Superbowl ring.. he has done it all why go back

This is the right move for him. He went out on top. The Giants are good enough that they should still make the playoffs but I doubt it will be easy or pretty for that defense.

Smart move for him. Sucks for the G-Men. It's Kiwi's time to step up.

I could see both sides of the argument here and I would've respected Strahan either way. He is a great player.
But his decision to stay retired made me respect him more. Good bye and good luck.
