Dodgers' attitude questioned

On the day after Dodgers coach Larry Bowa said the team should be "embarrassed" by its performance in Philadelphia, Manager Joe Torre held a closed-door meeting Tuesday, reminding his players a division title remains within their grasp and urging them to shed the frustration that accompanied getting swept by the Phillies. "We can't base our personality on losing a game," Torre said. "We're still in position to control our own destiny. Let's not lose our spirit." Torre said he did not agree with Bowa's assessment.

Wasn't Manny going to cure those attitude problems and lead the Dodgers to the Magic Kingdom?

They should be embarrassed. This is a Philly team they had just swept four games from at home.

So what? They got swept by a team playing better baseball that may finally be hitting again.

Better baseball? Dude, the Dodgers just swept the Phils last week and would do so again if put back in Dodger Stadium. Neither of these teams are going to the World Series. Duh.

The headline is misleading and pretty weak. It should read: Bowa and Torre Clash Over Sweep

Bowa, complete jackass!

Looks like Manny is setting the tone already. Maybe they should sign Sosa and Bonds, too.

Relax L.A. fans. You guys still have about six games left with my Padres, plus SD somehow just won a series over Arizona. I still say (with a sickness in my stomach as a Padres fan) that the Dodgers will win the NL West.

Didn't this come up last year also???

Not concerned about losing the Phils--they are hot and hitting. Now, losing the Nats? That is a TOTALLY different story...

I think Manny has done a lot for the Dodger attitudes. And after winning the last eight in a row, the Dodgers are approaching the drawbridge to the Magic Kingdom. I think a lot of you are butt-hurt cause your team didn't acquire Manny. Get over it and get ready. The Blue Crew is waitin for you. After dominating the D'backs convincingly and with nothing but bottom feeders left on their schedule (with exception of the Rockies) Who do you think will win the west? Lately it hasn't just been the Dodger pitching, But the bats have come alive too. As a pitcher facing 5 or 6 300 hitters in a row might make you think you're pitching out of a jam every inning. All you nay-sayers be warned, the Dodgers are alive and well. Let the season begin.
