The Warriors season is basically gone. No more steady PGs to lead the team. Nellie's team is a PG lead offense. PG is the leader and decision maker on the floor. No BDiddy and now no Ellis. Nellie had always relied on his PGs the most. Tim Hardaway, Avery Johnson, Steve Nash, Bdiddy, and now Monta Ellis. None of them are there right now. He might have to rely on the Italian scoring PG now. And that could be a good sign. It's time for Marco Belineli to shine and show what he is made of.

I agree that they are in bad shape now. Everyone knows that Nellie ball flows through an exceptional PG as they run the open floor for quick shots. This will help to all but kill their rhythm for sure. It really doesn't matter. That no defense style of play has always proven fun to watch but never lead to a deep playoff run. Defenses lock down and then you have those nights when your 3s don't fall.... done.

Let's get this straight. The Warriors are weak both at point guard and at center? Now they need both a small guy and a big man? Does not bode well for them.
Can't they find some foreign players, or recruit some disgruntled players who don't want to play in Oklahoma or something?
C'mon, it's the San Francisco Bay Area. They should have players lining up to play in such a great environment.

Let's shorten the story:

The Warriors are screwed before camp starts and will not get it done this year.

End of story.

The Warriors should get their local University boys to help them.
The players on Cal's team are merely a few stops away on the local subway. The Warriors can bribe one of the point guards and centers to pick a class schedule that allows them to attend the Warriors practices. After all, they don't need a car since there's a subway stop right there in Berkeley, and the train has a stop right at the Oakland Coliseum as well as routes to San Francisco and the South Bay if the Warriors practice elsewhere.
If the Cal boys do well, the Warriors can draft them for real the following year.

Ouch.

It's only a month. Actually I think Ellis is a stud. If they can hold the fort until he gets back thry'll be fine. Remember where you heard it. This team will surprise some people this year.

Not going to push the panic button. Marcus Williams is capable. He didn't get the chance to show that in New Jersey but he will get the job done.

Wel, now they are saying 3 to 4 months. That makes a big difference.

I am not sure how you see the Warriors have been improved that much even with Monta...I still think they are about the eight or ninth team out west with him (LA, SA, Utah, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Portland, and denver are probably better). We shall see ...

Ah...I read the headline and thought it said "management" instead of "offense" and I got excited.

Bellineli at point guard will be ugly, but marcus williams has game and it??s time for him to step up and show what Kidd "with his great leadership" was doing in NJ.....Bellineli of the bench, thats what I call "instant scoring", he is just as good as Rudy Fernadez.

i am f'ing freaking out but thanks to hllywd and j hova i have some hope left like when jason richardson left they got better monta got better so this gives them a chance to let marcus williams become better and marco bellineli please dont play point just come of the bench and score also monta has come off some serious injuries pretty quickly TO THE 09 SEASON!!!! p.s, anthony please do not be a tremendous fail?

I couldn't agree more. If they were playing on the soft side of the bracket then it would be different. Even with Ellis healthy I didn't see GS as a top 8. I would put the mavs at around 8th if they get Kidd to shoot some and Howard lays off the pot. GS is certainly behind them in my eyes even if I get rid of my biased view of the Mavs.

Denver and Dallas will be left on the outside looking in.

Denver? Denver gutted themselves this offseason. GS is better than the Nugs even without Monta.

If they don't, it won't be because Denver or Dallas nudged them out. I would expect the Clippers to be more of problem than Denver. After their "fire sale," they'll be lucky to win 30 games.
