Because the Ravens could be down to one healthy quarterback again, they are expected to sign a lower-tier quarterback as an emergency option. A league source said Casey Bramlet, who was recently released by the San Diego Chargers, is likely to join the team today.

ohhh first comment,

August 28, 2008  09:22 AM ET

who in the hell got hurt for the Ravens?

August 28, 2008  09:53 AM ET

Boller, and Smith are hurt. But it doesn't matter who the QB is really.

August 28, 2008  09:55 AM ET

not a good move in my opinion, this guy has no nfl experience....they need to go after a more seasoned qb

August 28, 2008  10:13 AM ET

Casey who?

Exactly . . . who the hell is that? They would be better off signing Daunte for one year, let Boller's contract expire next year and dont' resign him, then let Flacco play next year. They aren't going anywhere with any of their quarterbacks anyway . . .

I think Jeff George is available and wants to come back

August 28, 2008  11:10 AM ET

culpepper

August 28, 2008  11:32 AM ET

i don't think the Ravens have the cap space for Culpepper and besides he wants bigtime starter money anyway.

August 28, 2008  11:45 AM ET

Well with the Ravens lack of QB knowledge Bramlett might end up being their starter !!! As their management is saying - "he can't be any worse than the QB's we picked" !!!

August 28, 2008  12:07 PM ET

Casey Bramlett was a good college QB with Wyoming but this move by the Ravens is pointless.

I know Culpepper wants money but if he really wants to start he and his agent should be on the way to Baltimore right now. He's the best starter available.

By the way: Good picture there Ed Reed Fan. I'm a big Married With Children fan so the Al Bundy referrence is definitely a good one with me.

August 28, 2008  12:10 PM ET

I heard that Joe Ferguson was looking for a job, but the ravens would have to change the color of the helmets because he is colorblind !!!!!

August 28, 2008  12:18 PM ET

BRING BACK BRIAN BILLICK !!!

August 28, 2008  12:47 PM ET

if they sign daunte..its gonna be steve mcnair all over again

August 28, 2008  12:50 PM ET

Probably but what other choice do they have? Boller has a partially torn labrum. You can't rely on someone with a shoulder so bad that he can't even lift his arm over his head.

I say start Smith but you need a veteran on that roster.

Sad thing is I bet that's true.

August 28, 2008  01:10 PM ET

Boller's hurt, Smith is sick with the flu or something. They should have went after Jeff Garcia when the Eagles dumped him.

August 28, 2008  01:17 PM ET

kordel would come back

How can you say this about Flacco so early ? He could end up being a beast for all anyone knows at this point.

***On a side note, thanks J.Hova for the picture complement!!!***
