No date in sight for Beckett return

Josh Beckett's next scheduled start had been pushed back from Saturday to Tuesday to tonight in the wake of tingling and numbness in his pitching hand before his last start Aug. 17. And now he has been scratched entirely, with no next start date in sight. Instead of pitching at Fenway Park tonight, Beckett will consult with Dr. James Andrews on an elbow issue. All along, Beckett had seemed more concerned about the injury than anyone else. While manager Terry Francona initially attributed the numbness and tingling to Beckett sleeping on his right arm awkwardly before his last start, Beckett said Wednesday, "I think scary is probably a good word for it. I've had some sleepless nights thinking about all kinds of stuff. You generally think the worst."

Crapitty, crap, crap, crap!

*heavy sigh*

We'll still make the post season. But the sox won't get far if he's out for the year. Yeah, I know. Nothing's even known yet. Still. Not good.

What's the deal with the photo? It looks like everyone behind Epstein is listening to a campfire story.

As a Yankee fan, I hope Beckett doesn't need TJ surgery just yet and I will tell you why.

IF Beckett goes down with TJ Surgery, you can sure as hell bet that the Sox will go hard after one of the three big name starters this season, probably Burnett. And you know what, with the luck of the Sox, he'll be healthy his entire contract. The last thing I want to see is the Sox legitimately trying to sign one of the pitchers.

The sox have need for Teixeria, As they have Youkilis at first, Lowell at 3rd, Dustin at 2nd, and Lowire at SS, you can't throw Tex into the outfield either. The sox really dont have a need for a big name starter either with Beckett, Matsuzaka, Lester, Bucchholz and Wakefield, and possibly a healthy Schilling
