Stop your worrying. Stop your grousing. The Franchise, Peyton Manning, will be ready to go when the Indianapolis Colts open the season Sept. 7 against the Chicago Bears. Seriously, was there ever a question? "I would be shocked if (Manning) isn't there (for the season opener),'' coach Tony Dungy said after Thursday night's typically unwatchable preseason loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. "He'd have to have a dramatic setback (to miss the game).'' By setback, he means "getting hit by a bus.''

Were there really any doubts that he would start?

August 29, 2008  08:03 AM ET

Would it really of mattered if he didn't play? It's only the Bears, they would have won.

August 29, 2008  08:09 AM ET

We all knew he was starting so this is not news.....but more of
a snooze.............

August 29, 2008  08:25 AM ET

Does anyone think the Colts are toast this year because of their exh play?

Me neither... and the Patriots aren't done either. Looking forward to the real games. It's going to be a fun year.

August 29, 2008  08:41 AM ET

And the Indianapolis Peyton Mannings will roll again.

August 29, 2008  08:54 AM ET

The AFC will be just like last year Colts, Patriots, and Chargers will be battling it out to see who goes to the superbowl. The NFC on the other hand is hard to predict, but Seattle will definitely be contending in the playoffs along with the cowboys(unfortunately).

"Manning to start Colts opener"

Hey, Payton! Look at this watch swinging in front of your eyes ..... concentrate now ....... you're getting sleepier ...... and sleepier ...... you're eyes are getting heavier ... and now they're closed! When you wake up you won't remember any of this but when you hear the words "Bears" and "Chicago" you'll feel intense pain in your knee! Do you understand me? Good! Now .... at the count of three .....! (A Bears fan)

August 29, 2008  09:48 AM ET

We knew Manning's knee would be okay but what about Saturday's....

August 29, 2008  10:44 AM ET

Never a doubt. The question now though is do they keep 3 QBs on the depth chart or just go back to keeping Sorgi and Manning on there?

August 29, 2008  10:48 AM ET

the way our defense has been playing i think Orton would have to be Peyton Manning for a week (maybe the whole damn year to tell you ppl the truth) to pull off ANY victories...

i think it'll be a much better game though than even I expect it to be haha

The Browns 0-4 in pre-season. Got beat up by a not very good Bears team last night. Yep! The Browns are going to the SuperBowl! That is ........ if they can get tickets for the big game!

It's smart to sit your best players and not reveal much of your playbook in the preseason. Preseason games only allow the staff to make their final cuts and get their backups work. BROWNS DOMINATE THIS SEASON! GO BROWNS!
