Baby Boss eyeing Sabathia, Burnett

A day after promising that the Yankees will be busy in the offseason addressing their needs, Hank Steinbrenner Thursday named two pitchers in which the Yankees have interest. "Everybody's looking at Sabathia and Burnett, not just us," Steinbrenner said during Thursday's game against the Red Sox. "We'll see. The main concern is, are their arms going to be OK after this season?" Once again, Steinbrenner predicted a flurry of offseason activity to make improvements to a Yankees team that may miss the postseason for the first time in other than strike years since 1993.

They need to be doing something because they sure cannot pick em like the old man did. Too bad they let the whole season go by before even talking some sort of BS that is just a bunch of crapp in total.

Sabbathia is NOT an effective AL pitcher anymore. He was getting lit up this season when he was in Cleveland but chances are Hank won't see this so I won't get the GM job and they are going to make that move and get burned again, LOL.

Burnett isn't really worth the ducat$$$$$$$$$$ either.

Poor Yanks. Gonna get Pavano'd again. CC is an obese time bomb from a health persective and Burnett is injured almost as much as Pavano.

GO9,

What's the deal with your disturbing Avatars? You're a turd.

Burnett has been fun to watch this year that's for sure. It's almost 100% certain that he'll opt out of his remaining 2 years now since he's having a career year for him. Hopefully he's doing well this year because he's finally healthy. He's been labelled as not giving it his all sometimes and milking injuries. I'm sure when they Jays made the deal they knew it would mostly likely be 3 years instead of 5.

CC is still a solid pitcher and would be a great fit.. not sold on the other but at this point the Yanks need healthy pitchers who can be consistent and give the team a chance to win.

Just pretend one of the people in his avatar is a woman with really short hair. =]

August 29, 2008  08:06 AM ET

Okay....no.. still weird.. and the guy on the right looks like he is trying to get away... a weird thing to see this early and yes... makes his post less readable. Many people have many views but this is a sports site.. of course my opinion means little and the attention he wants.. he is getting.

August 29, 2008  08:06 AM ET

Correct me if I'm wrong....but don't those statements constitute contract tampering? MLB does have tampering rules, don't they?

August 29, 2008  08:07 AM ET

To his defense.. posting family pics is his right.. it is america.. so... be free.

August 29, 2008  08:08 AM ET

I'm sure the Yankees will pursue- but CC and his whole housing situation on the west coast throws up flags he might wanna be closer to home...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
