Michael Glover, the Seton Hall basketball recruit who was unable to play last season when the NCAA declared him an academic non-qualifier, is suing the NCAA and the Big East in an effort to get himself declared eligible to play for Seton Hall this upcoming season. According to the lawsuit, filed Wednesday in Providence -- where the Big East offices are located -- Glover is seeking to have the NCAA reverse its prior ruling and declare him qualified to play, and to receive an athletic scholarship. He is also seeking to be awarded financial damages equivalent to the cost of four years' tuition at Seton Hall, plus punitive damages for his having missed the 2007-08 season.

Hey, if he can sue them because he is not academically eligible, then can someone sue them because he/she is not athletically qualified?

I'm sorry.....
if you're declared academically 'non-qualified'
you've got some underlying issues & you're probably lucky you weren't kicked out of school

I mean Mr Blutarsky wasn't a "non-qualifier"
even he got a 0.0

To all the mouth breathers here:

The NCAA had issues with his former high school and invalidated his senior year. He paid for his own tuition for the spring semester and reportedly did fine academically. There's no suggestion (notwithstanding the experts in this forum) that he isn't capable academically.

In the unlikely event someone here might want to educate themselves before making a dumb-**** comment, you can find a copy of the plaintiff's argument here: http://www.courthousenews.com/2008/08/29/NCAABigEast.pdf

Hmmm....
we may be 'mouth breathers'
but at least we have enough fine motor skills to be competent enough to hit the enter button only once
