I like the idea of Tymoschuk heading to Bayern. I feel like Russian players do well in the Bundesliga. They are used to a manic fanbase back home, and the Bundesliga has the highest proportional attendance year in and year out. Not only that, but Bayern need a midfielder to replace the injured Franck Ribery. Tymoschuk, while less creative that Ribery, has an endless motor and would fit in well with a depleted midfield. Altintop is injury prone, van Bommel is having some character issues and Shweini is more of a winger. I like the move.

As for Berbatov, he is obviously unhappy at Spurs and was prolific for Leverkusen many years ago. He would add a lot to a side who is in danger of losing their top three strikers either due to age (Klose, Toni) or unhappiness (Podolski). Berbatov is 27, in the prime of his career, and would absolutely light up the Bundesliga. He just doesn't seem happy in England.

I say Bayern should go for both players.

Bayern Munich? They already have Klose, Toni, and Podolski. Nah, I aint buying this one.

Klose is 30 and has dropped production. Toni is 31 and has stated again and again that he wants to finish his career in Italy. So that means he will leave Bayern in a year or two. Podolski has been complaining about PT for years and would favor a move to hometown FC Koln.

Berbatov has Bundesliga experience and would link up well with Bayern's attacking midfielders like Ribery and Shweini. It makes sense.

It may make sense but I ain't buying it still.

Ferguson is saying he feels less optimistic about ManU getting Berbatov, so this could be why.

i know its only a goal.com article, but it seems to kind of make sense. I wouldn't be surprised if arshavin is on the list as-well
1) Bayern made a promise last year to have atleast 1 major signing every single summer

2) just because Bayern haven't made much transfer news overall doesn't mean they won't transfer... they completely hijacked oddo from lyon yesterday

3) Bayern was ready to shell out huge money for Gomez during the offseason. But now that all the other teams have made their moves, Bayern have carte blanc because they have huge sums of money, prestige, and are playing in the cl with world class players

I agree with J, i don't believe this one, Berbatov is obviously unhappy and wants out and again why do teams keep players who want out and announce it publicly, because really sitting him on the bench is better than playing him even to the detriment of the team...cuz REALLY?

Besides I don't think Berbatov wants to go anywhere but to ManU even though i'm sure he would be just as successful in the Bundesliga if not even more so than the EPL.

Selling your best players to your rivals in never a good idea, no matter how much money you get in return. Spurs wants to make it to the Champions League. That won't happen if they continue to let their best players move to Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man. U. Sell him to La Liga or the Bundesliga, but don't sell him to clubs you want to replace in the top 4. Look at Fiorentina. They were under a lot of pressure to sell Toni to Inter last year and to sell Mutu to Roma this year. Except if they want to compete for the Scudetto and continually make the Champions League, those squads are their big rivals. So they kept Mutu and sold Toni to a different league. Everyone wound up happy and Fiorentina is still poised to compete.

I think it's 'Manchester United or bust!' for Berba' and in such a case Tottenham SHOULD hold out for as much money as they can get from United...after all handing him over to United would be tantamount to handing over another league title to them in the process - although I'm sure Chelsea may have something to say about that.
