The Vikings are focused on trying to get a stadium built in Minnesota and have turned down overtures to meet with a billionaire developer who would like an NFL team in Los Angeles, a team official said. Ed Roski Jr. wants to build an $800 million stadium in City of Industry, Calif., in hopes of luring a team. Roski has made attempts to meet with the Vikings and owner Zygi Wilf in recent months, said Lester Bagley, Vikings vice president of public affairs/stadium development.

Laughs...................The Vikings?

Nowyou know this site is nothing but a pit of poop waste. ZThis would have never happened anyways. Stop trying to give the impression that the NFL is livng in the past. Thinking LA is the #2 market for football. Thats a 15+ year old study. Enough already

Move the Jets to LA. Nobody in NY likes them.

O wait, strike that. That'd be 2 less automatic wins each year for the Patriots.

August 29, 2008  07:25 AM ET

Good. Vikes are Minnesota

August 29, 2008  07:26 AM ET

I agree. It would be like GB leaving... never happen.

August 29, 2008  07:34 AM ET

I can't imagine Minnesota without the Vikings. That would be like Pittsburgh without the Steelers. Peanut butter without jelly. Unthinkable.

August 29, 2008  07:43 AM ET

The freaks in California will never accept and NFL team. Football is too violent for them, but they should make an offer to the Eagles. Because the brand of football the Eagles play is not really of an NFL caliber and it would be an upgrade in fans.

Philly fans worst in the NFL

Califreaka fans a bunch of cross-dressing diluted drug induced freaks with delusions of granger.

I guess philly fans and the freaks in California are the same...

Uck! just the sound makes people rethink about how bad things have become inthe NFL

August 29, 2008  08:12 AM ET

"delusions of granger" made me smile this morning. Gotta love that.

August 29, 2008  08:18 AM ET

good for the Vikings ....

August 29, 2008  08:22 AM ET

I hope it is true. Sometimes it is what they say right before they put the screws to you.

August 29, 2008  08:39 AM ET

Maybe Arizona could move - then Leinart will feel like he's playing for USC again.

August 29, 2008  08:41 AM ET

It's much more likely that you'll see the LA Jaguars before you see the LA Vikings.

Jacksonville is the only NFL stadium that I know of where they put tarps over entire sections of seats so that they can (only occasionally) claim a "sellout".

August 29, 2008  08:46 AM ET

Better yet the .................... LA Saints

August 29, 2008  08:51 AM ET

Doesn't USC count as a pro team playing in a really weak division? How many teams have to fail there before they realize no one cares about pro football in LA?

August 29, 2008  08:52 AM ET

After what Katrina did to New Orleans YOU want to take away their Saints? Be gone with ya.
